Jolley Herald Mr. and Mrs. Percy Hout attended the funeral of Andrew Madsen at the Rembrandt Methodist Church on Saturday afternoon. Tuesday visitors in the Harold Harrison home were Mrs. Richard Duitsman, Craig and Kevin of Manson Mrs.

George Gist of Pomeroy. Mr. and Msr. S. L.

Rastetter and family were weekend guests at Buckeye where they visited Mr. Rastetter's father who had just returned home from the hospital. He is getting along nicely. Rev. and Mrs.

Preul of Fenton called in the Herbert Burns home at Twin Lakes and were coffee guests there Monday afternoon of last week. Rev. Preul is a former minister of the Methodist churches in Jolley and Pomeroy. Mrs. Preul, who had surgery last year, is recovering satisfactorily.

Saturday and Sunday visitors in the Clarence Ellis were Mr. and Wayne Ohrtman of Fonda on Saturday and Mr. and Mrs. Daryl Stehr and family of near Odebolt, Mr. Ellis and Mrs.

Sunday evening Mr. and Mrs. Percy Hout and Judy visited in the Alan Johnson home at Fonda. On Thursday night Mrs. Hout and Judy visited in the Harry Johnson home at Fonda with Mrs.

Hout's mother, Mrs. Iris Johnson. Mrs. Danny Casey gave a talk and had antique glassware on display at the night school class in Lytton on Monday night of last week. This is one of a series of talks and exhibits on antiques given at the Lytton school this winter.

Saturday supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Nutter were Mr.

and Mrs. Floyd Howard and Bill of Manson and Mr. and Mrs. A. H.

Koeppen. Evening visitors were Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Tymeson, Jim Tymeson and Ab Jr. of Storm Lake.

Mr. and Mrs. Lacey Biery were Sunday dinner guests of her mother, Mrs. C. Carter, at Sac City who was celebrating her birthday.

Published to save lives in cooperation with the lowa Department of Pablio Salaty, Thursday, January 25, 2968 LESLIE BOWYER, 73, OF GILMORE CITY DIES Leslie Bowyer, 73, of Gilmore City, brother of Otis Bowyer of Jolley, died Thursday morning, Jan. 18 at the Pocahontas Community Hospital where he was a patient for a week. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p. m.

Saturday at the Methodist Church in Gilmore City, with the Rev. Arthur Campney officiating. Burial was in North Lawn Cemetery, Fort Dodge. Born at Winfield, W. Mr.

Bowyer came to Gilmore City at the age of six where he grew up and received his education. He worked as a laborer. Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Everett Strait of Gilmore City, Mrs. Harold Cottrell of Fort Dodge and Mrs.

Leta Schafer of Arlington, four brothers, Otis of Jolley (now spending the winter at Aransas Pass, Texas), Orville of Winterset, Marvin of Downers Grove, and Paul of Montesano, Washington, PALMER NEWS by Mrs. Helen Malm Announce Engagement Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Alig of Palmer announce the engagement of their daughter Cathy to Dave son of Mr. and Mrs.

Elmer Lenz. also of Palmer. Miss Alig graduated from Palmer' High tended School in 1966 and then School of Commerce in Omaha. She is presently employed by the Fort Dodge Laboratories. Mr.

Lenz, a graduate of Palmer High School in 1965, is an employee of Goodyear Service Store in Fort Dodge. No wedding date has been set. Mrs. Lena Schroeder entertained the S. C.

Wall, Jimmie Johnson, Morrie Ellis, Mrs. Edith Wall and Mrs. Carl Lottman, which all occur in January. Gifts were presented to all the honorees. Later in the evening birthday cake was served along with home-made ice cream made by Mr.

and Mrs. James Wall. Those present were Mrs. Carl Lottman, Ed and John Lottman, Roy and Olof Johnson, Mr. and Mrs.

Jimmie Johnson and family, Morrie Ellis, Mrs. Edith Wall, Marybelle Inskeep, Mr. and Mrs. James Wall and family and Mrs. Ella Wall.

E. S. INSTALLATION The regular meeting and installation of officers of Forest Chapter, O. E. S.

was held Friday evening. The installing officers were from Golden Cord Chapter, Fonda, also members of the United Church of Christ. They were: Mrs. Jan Garlock, installing past matron; Mrs. Vietta Gottfried, marshal: Mrs.

Mae Ogden, installing chaplain, who also sang a solo, accompanied on the piano by Mrs. Lila Nixon. A group of girls, Susan Babbitt, Roxanne Johnson, Jackie Johnson and Neva Ashbrook, sang "My Best To After the singing, Roxanne Johnson carried a gift of a lovely scrap book to Rev. and Mrs. Wall, worthy patron and worthy matron.

In addition to the officers elected, the following appointive officers were installed: Chaplain, Mrs. Viola Armstrong: marshall, Ella Wall: Ada, Janet Babbitt; Ruth, Marita Burns; Esther, Lois Hoyt; Martha, Anna Johnson; Electa, Virginia Jackson; warder, Esther Nutter; sentinel, Glenn Babbitt. During the meeting an electric coffee server was presented by Mrs. Bernice Lottman in memory of her late husband Carl. After the meeting everyone was served from an attractively laid coffee table centered with a floral arrangement of pink roses and snapdragons.

Mrs. Esther Olson presided at the silver coffee service. Mrs. Ella Wall, education chairman of the Calhoun County Cancer Society, was present at the W. C.

Mr. and Mrs. Herman Bunting are the parents of a son Allan Jay, born Sunday, Jan. 7, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Dodge. He has two sisters, Donna and Shirley.

Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Peters, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Hohensee of Pocahontas, returned home from a 5000-mile trip through the western states.

Mr. and Mrs. Harm Peters and John Habben returned home last Saturday from Illinois where they attended the funeral of a relative. Sidney A. Siefken, infant son of Mr.

and Mrs. Larry Siefken, was baptized Sunday morning, Jan. 14, at St. Paul Lutheran Church by Rev. Marcus Reitz.
