Jim Cusumino on June 1st after it courageous 4- Wear battle with breast cancer Cusumano's film will be seen nationally this summer in a series of special screenings as part of strategy to increase the awareness of breast cancer and develop the most appropriate distribution for the film. A former Bay Area resident from Palo Alto and Los Altos, she and her husband moved to Ojai three years ago. What Matters Most" was a labor of love among the entire Cusumano family.

It was written and directed by Ms. Cusumano, executive produced by her husband and stars their daughter, Polly Cusumano. Mr. Casumano's sister, Donna Cusumano, was on set and directed "One Touch Biscotti: A Woman, A Film And A Fight" a documentary about Ms. Cusumano's struggle with breast cancer while foilowing her dream to direct her first feature film.

Both films are currently being submitted to film festivals and will be offered for international distribution this fall. After putting her cancer In remission two years ago. Ms. Cusumano learned only a week prior to production that the disease had returned and metastasized Not forgoing her dream of making the film, she received weekly chemotherapy treatments while shooting on location in Amarillo. Texas and finished her film four weeks before she passed away Ms.

Cusumano was an accomphished equestrian and an artist on many fronts. For many years, she was commissioned to produce paintings of famous racehorses. She also had a creative knack for restoring old homes, and recently restored a Mediterranean horse and citrus ranch in Ojar. built in 1926 by noted architect. Wallace Neff.

Despite major surgery and treatments during her first battle with breast cancer. Ms Cusumano served as the general contractor on the restoration. The home was named "Chateau Wally" after Wallace Neff and their film company, Chateau Wally Films Ms. Cusumano is survived by her husband. Jim.

She waged her battle against cancer with valor and grace through her last breath.

A second generation native Cahforman, she attended Holly wood High, and UCLA, graduating in 1951 Jinnie married her college sweetheart. Gene, and they were to have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this June 22nd. She had four children in SIX years. and brought tremendous joy and energy to motherhood. Jinnie was In teaching administration at Glendale College for 30 years.

She last served in the position of Chairperson of the Adult Education Business Division. and additionally aided in development funding. She earned her MBA in 1983, and studied Spanish to become fluent. She was a natural educator. gracious and eager to share her knowledge.

Jinnie Was di lover of life. and people. Her family and many friends brought her great joy. She was an entertainer, par excellence, and especially loved having her family all together at the Lake Arrowhead home. She created many beautiful memories for her eleven grandchildren, ages 1-18.

She will be lovingly missed. Virginia IS survived by husband Eugene, daughters Diane Gold (Jeff) and Catherine Marcussen (Steve): sons E. Delbert Nelson (Lora) and Bradley Nelson (Valerie). She leaves grandchildren: Daniel. Greg and Andrew Gold: Eve, Will and Emma Marcussen: Candice and Brittany Nelson.
