Still looking backward and laugh- ing, 16-year-old Cornelius Van Eysden of Muskegon was hurled through the car's windshield by the violent impact. Chambers attended Safford public schools, then the University of Arizona. He took his law degree at Stanford University in Cali- fornia and first opened Tucson taw office in 1932, He was active in Republican politics in Arizona and served as president of the Ptma County Bar Assn. President Eisenhower appointed Chambers to the Circuit Court on the recommendation of U. S. Sen.
