8 the jkttnpftU PEDMONT Saturday, Sept. 25, 1976 TEC Panel To Apply For Day Care Funds Deaths By LUCY EMERSON News Staff Writer The Greenville Area Commission for Technical Education voted Friday to make a preliminary application to the Appalachian Health Council for a day care center at Greenville Technical College to accommodate the children of students. "The old automotive building and an adjacent structure on campus could be used for the center," said Ray Mixon, director of planning and grants for TEC. He said because the space available would accommodate only about 170 children, the applicants The vote was taken after board members received a report that a recent survey at TEC showed a projected need two years from now for a center to provide day care for 381 children. Children from six weeks to five years old would be kept in the center, according to preliminary plans.

Hazel Hall, vice president for student affairs, told the Greenville Area Commission for Technical Education Friday that 59 veterans have paid their debts to the Veterans Administration Office in Columbia. "We are very proud of our veterans," she said. "They have taken care of their own obligations." The veterans involved had continued to receive GI Bill benefits after dropping out of classes. John Pruitt DONALDS John" Oliver Pruitt, 71, of Rt. 2, Donalds, a retired farmer, husband of Mrs. Claudia E. Pruitt, died Tuesday. A native of Abbeville County, he was a member of New Friendship Baptist Church.

Coroner Zack Seymour said Allen was driving toward Laurens when he struck a car traveling in the opposite direction.
