Gray- don in Columbia Saturday, were conducted from innity Episcopal I church in Edgefield Sunday morn her husband, who for many years was a distinguished member of the Edgefield bar. Mrs. Simkins was a native of Charleston, a descendant of Governor Arnoldus VanderHorst and her parents were John and Raven VanderHorst Lewis. She was married to Mrs. Simkins in 1887 and made her home in Edgefield until about ten years ago.

She is survived ny one sister, miss Raven Lewis of Charleston; two daughters, Mrs. Graydon and Miss Jeanie Wardlaw Simkins of Colum bia: two sons, John Elliott Simkins of Columbia and Dr. Francis Butler Simkins of Framville, and four grandchildren. Thomas M. Reynolds GREER, July 18.

Thomas Marion Reynolds, 79, well known resident and farmer of the Hampton road section in Spartanburg county near Greer, died at the home of his sister, Mrs. Belton Edwards, on Well-ford, route 2. Monday morning at 2:30 o'clock after declining health for the past year. Mr. Reynolds was never married and was known to his many friends as "Uncle Tommie." He was the son of the late Pierce Reynolds and Catherine Mayfield Reynolds, and was a devoted member of the Zoar Methodist church.

Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Fannie Hughes of Greer; Mrs. Nora Vaughn of Fountain Inn, and Mrs. Belton Edwards or weiuora, route 2. Mr.

Reynolds has made his home at the place of death of over 60 years making his home with his sister. Mrs. Edwards, and was held in high esteem by all that knew him. He was born in Pickens county. Vernon Eves Sanders. 38. of Rock Hill, died yesterday afternoon in a Columbia hospital following an illness of about six weeks. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternon at 3:30 at Westland Methodist church in Forest City. N.

C. Interment will be in the City cemetery at Forest City. Mr. 'Sanders was born in Forest City and lived there until he moved to Rock Hill about nine years ago. He was an employe of the Jac Fein- berg Hosiery mill.

Surviving are his wife, the former Miss Gertrude Jones of Forest City, and the following children: Annie Onsida, Hazel Dean. Martha Jean, Margaret Vernon, Charles Thomas, Beaty Dewe and Steve Jones Sanders, all of Rock Hill; his mother, Mrs. T. L. Sanders of Forest City, one brother, L.

D. Sanders of Savannah, and two sisters, Mrs. Frances Dunwoody of Vidalia, and Mrs; Lillian Baynard of Forest City. The funeral party will leave the residence. 450 Cedar street at 1:30 p.

Til for the last several weeks, Mrs. Alice Glenn Jones, 79, died shortly before midnight last night at her residence on South Main street. Mrs. Jones was a former resident of Winder, but had been living in Anderson for the past 27 years. She was thrice married, first to Howard Thomas, of Winder.

second to Dr. T. Reeves also of Win der, and last to the late J. C. Jones of Anderson county.

She is survived by one sister. Mrs. W. S. Manning, Anderson, and the following stepchildren: J.

Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery, Dempsey Watkin July 18. Dempsey A. Watkins, 70, well known resident of the Shiloh section, died shortly he-fore 12 o'clock last night at his home after an illness of two months. A native of the Shiloh he was a son of the late Jefferson and Charlotte Abercrombie Watkins. He was a well-to-do farmer and good citizen.

For the last 18 years he had lived at the old home place of the late Dr. J. s. Wolff, a landmark which he had improved and preserved. Mr.

Watkins was twice, married, his first wife, Mrs. Minnie Wise Watkins, having died more than 18 years ago. He is survived by his second' wife, Mrs. Daisy Armstrong Watkins, and the following sons and daughters, children of the Wrst marriage: Sloan, Ludie and Alton Watkins of Gray Court; Mrs. Claud Armstrong, Mrs.

S. B. Owens, Mrs. Gary Armstrong, also of Gray Court; Mrs. Bob Young of Laurens, and Mrs.

Martin Murphy of Greenville; one sister, Mrs. Sallie Kellett of Hickory Tavern; three grandchildren, Charles and Billie Armstrong and Bobby Owens. The funeral will be at Rabun Creek Baptist church Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock, conducted by his pastor, the Rev. Marvin Owings of the Shiloh Methodist church, assisted by the Rev. W.

A. Baldwin and Mr. C. B. Bobo.

Murphy- Bolt and Jesse Bolt. Pierce Robertson GREENWOOD, July 18. Pierce Robertson. 61, Ware Shoals merchant, died at his home there at noon today following one of ill health. He was a native of the ChappeUs section; a son of the late J.

W. Robertson and Susan Thrift Robertson, but had been, a resident of Ware Shoals for the last 22 years. Funeral services will be conducted at the home Tuesday afternoon at 4 o'clock by the Rev. C. D.

Garner assisted by the Rev. Lewis. M. Smith of Greenwood and the Rev. Frank Snyder of Ware Shoals.

Interment will follow in Turkey Creek cemetery. Mr. Robertson is survived by his widow, the former Miss Lucy Thompson, a native of North Carolina; two Mrs. S. A.

Carter, Ninety Six, and Mrs. H. R. Betts, Bainbridge, one stepdaughter, Mrs. C.
