16th today announced his candidacy in the Democratic primary, Sept. 7, for the state house of representatives from district No. 16. Earhart has been a resident of Tucson six years and is engaged In the real estate business. He also is a memher of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers.

A former resident of Santa Cruz county, Earhart was formerly engaged in the mercantile business at Patagonia and was Interested in mining developments near there. He served two terms as Santa Cruz county sheriff, two terms as treasurer and one term in the" state legislature. Earhart. also is a former Arizona state treasurer. During the Republican administration of Gov.

Tom Campbell he was the Democratic executive officer elected. Ex-Tucsonian, Mrs. Lewis, Dies Word has been received of'the death of Mrs. Louella Routh Lewis. S4, at her home in Harrison, June 11. Mrs.

Lewis and her husband, Harvey Lewis, came to Tucson in the early 1930s and lived here until Mr. Lewis' death in 1951. Mrs. Lewis was active in the Catalina Methodist and St. James Methodist churches and belonged to a number of civic organizations.
