L. Hanaford from the south ward. For Members of the Library Board Agnes E. Quintan, E. E.

Kext Sunday, July IS, the McHenry county Sunday-schools; hold a conven tion in the Congregational church at 10:30 a. and 2 p. m. All invited. The milk train and west-bound pas senger collided east of Elgin, Thursday, causing a bad wreck.

Several persona were injured, Fireman Norton severely. The trains were out of time the whole day. H. W. Cook had the misfortune to lose another horse last week.

Two more of the milk wagon horses are prostrated with the heat. The doctor and his son Harry are planting horses quite rapidly the past year. W. M. Hackett is champion on potato-! aislng, having dug on Saturday, the 7th hill of only one tuber planting that contained 102 well-developed potatoes, mostly small, of the Triumph variety.

Who says this is not a prolific year? Next. Mias Nellie Pearson came out from Chicago the 4th and accompanied her fliends, Misses Nellie and Clara Holm gren, to Crystal Lake to enjoy the sea breeze on the national day. All are cordially invited. Mrs. Nellie Smith was at Elgin last Friday, to attend commencement exercises at Hecker's musical college. Miss Edith Mansfield was one of the class this year, graduating with high honors. The opportunity for purchasing music which was mentioned in the paper a few weeks ago will occur on Friday, July 20.
