George Scott Will Narrate ABC Color Special Friday The 41 year old actor also has been hailed for his Broadway and off-Broadway per-formances, including his work in "Plaza Suite," a Broadway comedy hit this year. "The Scientist" was produced and written by Ernest Pendrell. The forthcoming "CosmopoHs' is being produced by John H. Secondari and "View From Space" by Jim Benjamin. "Man and His Universe" will have as its general theme the role of science in our changing world.

Producer Hires Three Writers For Musical Producer Nathaniel Green-b 1 a 1 1 Lande has signed Michael McWhinney, Jerry Powell and Treva Silverman to write the screenplay for Universal City Studios' "The Pushcart War," a dramatic musical version of Jean Merrill's best-selling novel which the studio recently purchased, it was announced by Jennings Lang, senior vice president. The three writers worked together on many revues for Julius Monk, famed producer of the Upstairs At Downstairs Club in New York and on Plaza at the Plaza. They will check into the studio immediately to start work on the satire dealing with an outrageous war between a small band of pushcart peddlers and gigantic trucking companies in New York.

Martin will portray the key role of an airline captain In the mult million dollar production based on Arthur Hailey'i No. 1 best selling novel. George Seaton currently Is writing the screenplay for the Technicolor picture which he also will direct. Production Is scheduled for next winter. Assignment marks Martin's third appearance under the Universal banner, his previous films having been "Texas Across the River" and "Rough Night In Jericho."
