Reynolds of Helena was a might yet be another nice, warm week-end before the Summer's gone altogether, so's we can have that steak fry we've planned so long? 'Spose? The steak fry is a great way to celebrate the first part of Autumn. Besides tasting so good, we mean. You don't need much of a grill for outdoor cooking you can improvise one by laying an oven rack or sturdy cake rack on stacked up bricks. Build a charcoal fire between the bricks and you're all set to broil steaks. Beef supplies are plentiful now and prices are attractive.

Choose club steaks if you like for individual servings and let each guest broil his own, to taste. If you want to, buy the larger steaks, such as sirloin or porterhouse, to serve several guests. It is much better, we have found, to buy one thick steak than several thinner ones. Don't get round steak for broiling because this cut requires moist heat cookery you know, the way Swiss steak is prepared. When that steak aroma wafts over the fence it makes the neighbors so darned mad that they didn't think of it themselves.

Furthermore, and whencehereafter, it also shows the gal of the house that the old man knows a thing of two about this business of cooking! Eh? Tell your meat market man what you plan to do. He can help you with suggestions. Ask him. That's his business. -Our business is to help supply him with the stuff he needs to supply you.
