Sickly, of Howland, in tends to sell oat, leare this county, and seek a new home in the far west. Though we are far from wishing Mr. S. any ill fortune, still we do hope he cannot find purchaser, because there are very many citiiens of Trumbull counly that can be better spared, than himself. His advertisement (which is in another col umn,) hardly does his faim justice.

It is situated on the east side of the Mus- quitto Creek valley, than which there is no more fertile land, on the Western Re The Howland centre road pass es directly through it north and south, and and another road leading from the Youngstown and Warren road to Vienna, runs along the south side, thus afford in? convenient access to all parts. There are several never-failing springs of pur est water on the premises. The bouse is large, commodious, bas been built but a few years, and. is situated a fe rods east of the road, and about half way up the slope from the stream to the birrher lands, and thus commands a fine view of the country west There are few farms, within our knowledge, that unite as many advantages as Mr. Skelt's.

Accident A few days since, a young man named John Akic, while engaged in the steam saw-mill of Messrs. Dickey Estabrook, in this place, was severely injured, by a sudden revolution of the fly wheel, while stepping with both feet upon it, for the purpose of setting the machinery in motion. The steam being applied, the wheel revolved suddenly, carrying Mr. Allen around with it, inflicting terrible bruises upon his back and hip. The body and limbs below the injured part, are entirely, The physicians are still undecided as to whether any of the vertebrae of the back are broken or dislocated.

As the patient is gradually improving, they hope that is not the case. The Public Square. It is gratifying to see the improvements which are being made in this great ornament to our town. The area around the Court House has been graded, more shade trees have been planted, the fence straightened, new gates made, (which irill ingress and egress to bipeds, but as quadra peds cannot make so rooked a track as politicians, they must stay outside,) and the rickety frame buildings in the north east corner, which have been an eye-sore to our citizens during the last two years, are fast disappearing. Success to the new Mayor.

Boots and Shoes. Among the new stocks opening in our market, we notice that Jas. McConnkll is, as usual, on hand with a complete assortment of every thing in his line, from the infant's kid shoe, to the water-proof, boot which could half conceal a giant. The only objectioa-w have, personally, to Mc Cornell, is that his boots last so long, that they get out of fashion before we can wear them out May his shadow never grow less. Admitted.

At the present term Court, Wn. W. Nevisok, of Morgan, Ashtabula County, was admitted to practice at the bar of this State. We are informed that Mr. Nevison passed his examination in a manner very creditable to himself.

C. Ranney and James Marvin, a Board of County Examiners. From the London Times of April 4th. What About Sevastopol? We don't want to croak about our own position on the heights before Sevastopol. We will assume that it is very strong; that, after the result of the 25th of Ocio-ber, the Russians will not hastily attack Balaklava, and after the 5th of November, they will be shy of attempting to surprise our camp.

will assume that they have generally a judicious leluclance to come to close quarters with us, and that, though they seem to have nightly colli sions with our allies, thanks to the greaier numerical force of the French, and thanks also to those excellent Zouaves, they are not likely to drive their besiegers yet into the sea. We will assume that the railway will do wonders that there will be no more deaths by mere famine and naked ness. Ye will assume that the new Turkish contingent and the Piedinontese army, will find their way into the Crimea, in lime at least for an autumn campaign; we will assume everything that may rea sonably be required. What we want to know is this supposing everything to be done that has been promised or pro mulgated hitherto, what more likelihood is there of taking Sevastopol before the dog-days than there ever was? What more chance is there of our taking Se vastopol during the dog-days than there was during the dead of last winter? What more chance is there of taking Se- vastopol next October than there was last October In fine, what chance is there of our taking the place at all, under existing auspices, and as long as the present estimates of the odds of war prevail at head quarters Uas Lord ran more any reason to believe that something will be done this April It is for this April for the very purpose of being on the spot, in position, and with our supplies about us by this month that the allies determined to-stand the rigor of a Crimean winter in their unprepared state, instead of re-embarking after the failure of the 17th of October. If this month is passed inaction, in vaporing, in wailing idly upon Providence, or in expecting succes ses that will never come of themselves, it is evident that the fearful sacrifices of the wintei campaign will be entirely thrown away, and our army might as well have passed the winter pleasantly on the Bos- phorus, end returned to the Crimea last month as fresh as if it had just come from barracks in England.

If the Government at home has no assurance, and can give no assurance, that April will be made use of before it is added to the months that have been lost, we have one more question to ask, and that is, how long they mean to leave the conduct of the war in the present hands It cnnnol be our design to spend twenty millions of money I year by year, and 20,000 lives, merely to maintain a position in Crimea. 1 he British people do not contemplate a second siege of Troy, which, at the present rate, will cost us 200,000,000 and 200,000 men. 1 hey expect something to be done. 1 hey are not satisfied with a mere exhi bition in the Crimea of those excellent defensive qualities which have won so much respect at the Horse Guards. They want something to be done and if some thing is not done before long, the same public impatience which has already ef fected great things, will certainly insist on some radical change in our present system ot government.

of of P. of Imperial Gossip. Press talk quite confidently that Louis Napoleon contemplates a divorce from and a new alliance, for high political reasons." Poor Eugenie has proven barren, and the man of coup elalt by no means intends to leave his Empire to the heir apparent young Napoleon bonaparte of the Jerome branch, who has cut so sorry a figure in the Crimea. Louis, it is said, dislikes him, and the aversion is deepening daily. Louis had no objection to lhat family having an imperial salary and equipage, but there their pretensions were to stop, and Eugenie was expected to do the rest.

The poor lady, however, though constantly ill, is in very uninteresting state ot health, to all but the aspiring inmates of the Palais Royal, whose chances for the imperial sceptre are improving from day to day. Hence it is said that the Emperor, in imitation of his Uncle, is contemplating a divorce and a' new marriage. If he could turn Mormon, and follow the example of urigham loung, a ready solution for his dilemma could be found. The re is another class of gossips, who claim that the Emperor is contemplating grand Republic that when he comes die he will transfer the sovereignty of olnce over to the people. He will soon die, they say, and without children.

He worn out to such an extent, that he could hardly walk out at the last review his guards, and had to support himself loaning cn a cane. 1 his class of people affirm that the heir presumptive is radical Republican, and that if iuis dies without restoring the Republic, young Aapoleon will do it. 1 hut ence on the throne, he will first use his power to in troduce all sociul reforms in poliiical as wen as financial matters to stretch out his helping baud to all onDressed nation aliiies, and lhen rttire into private life, a ainijiie cuiztn in his country, constituted a basis of a peaceable preordered Dem-ocralic iustituu n. John's, Newfoundland', and to have the line completed and in operation, on or lie fore the 22. 1 of January, 1853. We huve already men-tioned that the New York, Newfoundland and London Company hail contracted for a cable to connect New hiikIIuikI with Cape Breton on IVince Edwards Island, from whence lines are 'already in operation to New York. This woik will be accomplished in the course of ihe present summer. We have spcii a specimen of the cable to be made for this Company, which is to weigh five tons and two hundred pounds to the mile, and presents a much moie finished and compact appearance than the cable now in use between England and the Continent, a short section of which has been exhibited to us.

This English line has already been work ed for years without alteration or repair, and seems wholly unaffected by tin.e wear, or chemical action. The two Companies, European and American, each will own the line by it constructed; but their contract obliges them to operate in connection wiih each other, to the exclusion of all other for the period of fifty years, which is the limit of the American Company's Charier Jour.
