Giorgi, pastor emeritus of St. Justin Martyr Roman Catholic Church in Penn Valley, died Saturday. He was 69. Giorgi was appointed founding pastor at St. Justin Martyr Church in 1964 and became pastor emeritus in 1990.

He served as chairman of the Archdiocesan Building Committee from 1984 to 1988. Originally from New York City, Giorgi was graduated from Northeast High School and St. Charles Borromeo Seminary. He was ordained in 1949. Giorgi was a founding faculty member of Cabrini College, where he taught philosophy and theology for 15 years.

Kenney and Clare Deraney, 17 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Clare R. Beckhtold. She was predeceased by a son, Robert Reiner.
