Police said the woman met her assailant at Spencer's Bowling Alley In Carpentersville about 8 15 p.m., and the pair left together about 10:30 p.m. for an Algonquin tavern. SPURLOCK Delbert R. Spurlock, 59, of Elgin died Saturday at St. Joseph Hospital. Born March 6, 1923 in Hern-shaw, W.V., he was the son of Watt and Doris Spurlock. He had been employed by the Union Oil Company of California for the past 41 years where he most recently served as a regional technical manager.

He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran, having served as a sergeant in the southern Philippines and western Pacific. Survivors include his wife, Bessie White Spurlock; three sons, Don of Wisconsin Rapids, Terry of Roscoe, and Watt of Elgin; three brothers, Bill, Cyril, and Boyd all of Heneshaw, W.V.; two sisters, El-dean Fraley of Logan, W.V., and Julie Cathy of Delaware and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m.

at the Free Will Baptist Church, Elgin, with the Rev. James Buthcher officiating. Burial will be at the Bluff City Cemetery. Visitation is today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Stout Funeral Home.

EUGENE R. HUBLEY Eugene R. Hubley, 56, of Carpentersville, died Friday at Sherman Hospital. He was a member of the Carpentersville VFW Post 5915 and the Elgin American Legion Post 57 and had been employed by the Milwaukee Road railway as a signal engineer. Surviving are his wife, Laura; three sons, Michael, with the U.S.

GERTRUDE H. THOMPSON Mrs. Gertrude H. Thompson, 66, of Elgin, died Saturday in Sherman Hospital. Born Oct.

9, 1916, in Chicago, she was a daughter of the late John and Gertrude Bauer Morgan. She was a resident of Wilmette for many years, moving to Elgin in 1979. Survivors include two brothers, John W. Morgan of Downers Grove and Paul B. Morgan of Glen Ellyn.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold, in 1979. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the Laird Funeral Home with the Rev. L.A.' Boseck officiating. Burial will be in Rethania Cemetery Justice, 111.

Friends may call at the time of services. The ommission of flowers is requested with memorials made to the charity of one's choice. ALVIN E. LEHMAN Alvin E. Lehman, 80, of Emporia, formerly of Elgin, died Saturday at home.

Born May 26, 1902, in Elgin, he was a son of the late Harry and Ida Niss Lehman. He lived in Elgin until moving to Emporia in September. Mr. Lehman was a mail carrier with the Elgin Post Office for 38 years, retiring in 1965. He was a member of St.

John Lutheran Church and the National Associa-tianof Letter Carriers. Survivors include a son. John, of Emporia. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m.

In the Schmidt Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert F. Jaeger officiating Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
