Don't knock security Dear Ann Landers: I am writing in response to "Irked at La Guardia." 1, too, am a frequent traveler, being a flight attendant for a major airline. A few years ago I had the unfortunate experience of being hijacked. It was the most terrifying thing that has ever happened to me. We were com- pletely at the mercy of a gun-wielding maniac. If the security check system had been in effect at that time it a a 120 passengers and eight crew members (not to mention their families and friends) a great deal of agony.

I'd like to say to "Irked," if the security check system irritates you so much why don't you check your baggage in cargo? Anyone who has been on a plane for 14 hours without food, water and working toilets and spent a night in Cuba, will agree with me it's no fun. So please don't knock the system until you have been subjected to the alternative. Diverted Dear Amen, friend. As another frequent traveler I'm delighted the airlines are checking hand luggage. I admit, however, that I'm par- tial to airlines that use X-ray equipment.

This precludes digging around in purses and tote bags. Dear Ann Landers: For the past seven months I have been dating an unwed father. Perry is 21 years old. (I am 20.) His baby is six months old and he is crazy about her. He was engaged to marry the mother but they couldn't get along and the engagement was broken twice.

He still sees her because he is so wild about the child. Perry's parents have been on his back a lot since the baby was born. They want him to marry the girl and work out their differences later. This is their only grandchild and they are crazy about the little girl, too. Everything was fine until two months ago when I had to leave town to take care of my May 6,1925, at the home of her mother.

When 1 returned to town, Perry said his feelings toward me had changed and we could never go back to where we were. I love the guy and want things back to normal. I'm sure when I was away the baby's mother got to him and this is where the trouble started.

Will you please tell me how to get Perry to marry me? I know he loves me and not the mother of his child. He has told me so a dozen times. Perry's Girl Dear Girl: Sorry, but you're fighting a losing battle actually if you lose this one you win. An unwilling groom makes a very poor husband. Perry would be forever going back to the other woman in order to see his child.

This would be the of never-ending arguments between you two. My advice is to write off Perry NOW and save yourself a lot of heartache. Dear Ann Landers: I've been in the service and my mother saved every one of your colum- ns for me becuase she knows I'm a big fan. I just ran into the letter from the i doctor who suggested that the wife of the snorer hit him in the face with a fly swatter. How can a person get a night's sleep if he has to worry about being attacked for doing a normal thing like snoring? I couldn't believe my eyes.

My grandpa used to snore and it was a very comforting sound. He was a wonderful per- son and knowing that he was there made us all feel safe. So here's a message to the snorers of the world: Don't feel sad. Not everyone hates you. Some of us love you.
