11 9 Id Supervisors Considering Prop-. osition to Annex Prop-. erty to De Pere Site. WOULD HAVE TWIN CITY DEED LAND TO COUNTY Could Then Purchase Grounds Adjoining Present Park and Make One Big Fair Site cf Whole Understood City of De Pere Favors Plan. When the Brown county board of supervisors convenes on Tuesday It may take up and consider a proposition to buy a tract of land which could be annexed to the De Pere fair grounds and one big site for county fairs made.

Members of tho board, Including Chairman Paul Scheuring of De Pere, havehad the proposition In mind. By the passage of Chapter 202 of the Laws of 1907, the county Is allowed to appropriate a sum not to exceed $8,000 for fair grounds, and to accept gifts of land, labor or material from cities and villages. The proposition which some of the members have had lu mind ts to havo the city of De Vcre deed the fair grounds over to Brown county, and then for the county to purchase land adjoining tho grounds, combine the two tracts and make a fine big site for fair purposes. The sum allowed by law could purchase enough more property bo that when the new land was added to the present fair grounds the park would be large enough for all county fair needs. It Is understood that the proposition.

Is viewed with favor by city officials of De Pere for the reason that the expense of keeping the fair grounds In good shape for conducting fairs and race meets is becoming a burdenr which the city would just as soon bo relieved of. Those members of the board who have spoken of the matter to citizens And that it meeta with approval, especially among those who worked to save the fair grounds here. The contention made by them is that there Is no other site f.o suitable for all requirements, the location, size and gen-eral layout of the land considered. THEFT.
