Karen Ann Is Taken To Nursing Home MORRIS TOWNSHIP, N.J. (UPI) Karen Ann Quinlan today was under care of physicians at the Morris View nursing home, a public facility for the poor where the 22-year- old comatose woman will spend her last days. Miss Quinlan, accompanied by her family's attorneys, was taken in a police-escorted ambulance to the nursing home from St. Clare's Hospital in Denville. N.J., Wednesday night during a heavy thunderstorm.

Her parents, Joseph and Julia i a arrived moments before at the nursing home and were met by Rev. Thomas Traposso, the family's Roman Catholic priest. They watched as the ambulance backed up to the entrance of the nursing home and attendants quickly lifted a sheet-covered stretcher into the building. Tufty came to Washington in 1935 from Evanston. 111., where she was managing editor of the Evanston News Index. For the next 41 years she headed Tufty News Service, covering Washington news primarily for Michigan newspapers. In a profession that has long been male-dominated, she did not hesitate to speak up and Ix; a leader among women journalists. She was the only woman to be the president of the three top Washington press clubs for women: the Women's National Press Club, the American Newspaper Women's Club, and the American Women in Radio and Television.

In the latter organization, she was both Washington and National president. Among outstanding newsmen trained in the Tufty News Bureau weie Liz Carpenter, press secretary to Ladybird Johnson, and Edwin Newman, NBC television veteran. A I A At Ver Hage of Holland, Inc. I Motorcyclist Injured Justin Harkema, 48. of Reno-! both, was injured while riding a motorcycle in the area of Castle Park in Allegan county's Laketown township. Authorities said he was admitted to Holland Hospital at about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday with a dislocated hip and was listed in ''good'' condition today.
