Dean Kinghorn Near record Kansas calf, lamb crops TOPEKA record calf and lamb crops are indicated in Kansas in a mid-year livestock survey, the State Livestock Reporting Service said Monday. The 1963 lamb crop is placed at 434,000, an increase of six percent over last year. The calf crop is expected to total 1,637,000, six percent above last year and the third largest on record. A big decline is in chickens. Kansas farmers will raise only 6,668,000 this year, the smallest number in 30 years.
