Included in the sales to buyers from eight states were 208 head of registered Montana-bred herd sire prospects, replacement females and range bulls. Breeders were: Cutice Hereford ranch, Stevensville; Lolo Stock farm. Lolo; Archie Pardkes Hereford ranch, Vaughn and Wilbur Storey Hereford ranch, Bozeman.

The sales results: At SterensTille-- 86 Herefords averaged $927. Included were 16 herd sire prospects which averaged Lolo 26 polled Herefords grossed $19.260. Fourteen females averaged $503, 12 bulls 1 1.0": Vaughn 65 Montana-bred Herefords averaged $1,283, setting a Montana record. Thirty bulls averaged $1,651, 26 females Bozeman 40 range bulls sold for $500 each to Harold J. Powers of Eaglerille, president of the California state senate.

Buyers were from Wyoming, Nebraska, California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, North Dakota and Texas. Townsend, Nov. Edith Kinslow of San Diego, who has been enjoying an extended visit in Townsend with her sister, Mrs, Henry Young and family, plans to return to her home this week. Mrs. George Finnegan and son of Livingston are spending several days here with her mother, Mrs.

Mary D'Arcy. George Pennell and John Luth of Radersburg visited friends and transacted business here Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. A.

F. Kelly and son Jimmy of White Sulphur Springs spent the weekend visiting Mrs. Kelly's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Shirley Van Voast.

Davis, assistant professor of zoology-entomology at Montana State college, who heads the Montana science talent hunt this year. He said students who enter the contest for Westinghouse science scholarships will he eligible for Montana scholarships also.

Students entering the national contest are enrolled in the state program automatically. Fire Montana seniors rated among the upper 300 students in the nation last year, but won no national scholarship. Thirty-eight Montanans entered the last contest. Eight got scholarships through the college here. Entries this year should be in by NOT.

Spll- ura, 67, well-known Butte sportsman and businessman, died last night near Missoula of injuries he bad suffered earlier in the day in an automobile accident near Superior.

Spillum suffered a severe back njury when his car left the highway near Superior. He was being to a Missoula hospital for reatment when he died. His wife was not seriously hurt the accident. The Splllums were en route to Spokane when the accident occurred. Surviving besides his wife, are a son, Charles of Butte, and two daughters, Mrs.
