He had lived in Newton for the past 20 years. He retired January 1, this year, after 58 years service with the railroad. Mr. Bridges was a member of First Baptist Church here; was a mason and a member of Hamasa Shrine Temple in Meridian. His survivors are his wife, Mrs.

Mattie Roberts Smith Bridges; a daughter, Mrs. John S. Miller, of Wichita, two brothers, W. Parham Bridges of Jackson, and Robert Walker Bridges of Meridian; two sisters, Miss Mabel E. Bridges of Jackson, and Mrs.

Vern D. Calloway of Winter Park, seven grandchildren, Linda Steel, Talbot A. Steele, Meredith Steel, Burton Steel, all of Mobile, Beth Miller, John Steven Miller, III and Alison Miller, all of Wichita, and a number of nieces and nephews. Interment will be in Cedar Lawn Cemetery. 'Mac' Sigler, 80, Dies In H'burg HATTIESBURG C.

M. 'Mac' Sigler, 80-year-old insurance executive, died Sunday morning at Methodist Hospital after a brief illness. He had been in a local insurance firm since 1927. Prior to that he was a bank officer. A native of Wayne County, he had lived in Hattiesburg since 1900.

He was an elder of Bay Street Presbyterian Church, a 33rd degree Mason, member of Elks Lodge and active in various civic affairs. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday from Hulett Funeral Chapel, with interment in Roseland Cemeery. He leaves his widow, three sons, Robert 0. and W.

U. both of Hattiesburg, and Jack Sigler of Mobile; a daughter, Mrs. Sarah Bullock of Long Island, N. six grandchildren and a greatgrandchild. Distinguished Dentist, Dr.

Wright, Dies Sunday Dr. William Richard Wright, 88, prominent Jackson dentist, died at 5:15 p.m. Sunday, at his residence, 1917 North West after a long illness. Dr. Wright was born in Tate County, the son of Patrick Henry Wright and Anna Clark Wright.

He received his dental degree from Atlanta Dental College in 1897, and moved to Jackson in 1898, where he practiced dentistry until the summer of 1962. He was Secretary of the Mississippi Board of Dental Examiners 1900 1904, was secretary and president of the Mississippi Dental Association, first vice president and trustee of the American Dental Association, first dental member of the Mississippi State Board of Health, serving from 1926 until 1951, a Fellow of the American College of Dentists, member of the Pierre Fauchard Academy of Dentistry, and member of Psi Omega Dental fraternity and of Omicron Kappa Upsilon honorary dental fraternity. In 1950 he was named by the dentists of Mississippi as the dentist who had made the most outstanding contribution to the progress of dentistry in Mississippi during the previous fifty years. He received a medallion from the Thomas P. Hinman Mid winter clinic for his leadership in dental progress.

His wite was the late Anne Mims Wright. He was a member of the First Baptist church; and had held membership in the Sons of the American Revolution. He is survived by three daugh- DR. WRIGHT ters and one son: Mrs. Herbert D.

JSC Students Join New York Service Corps Clara Hinton and Fred Lawrence McDowell, both of Greenwood modern foreign language and English literature majors, respectively at Jackson State College, will serve as volunteer workers in New York City this summer.

Frank Williams. at a Prince Charles, 14-year-old heir to the British throne, manfully returned to Gordonstoun school yesterday to face the music-including a possbile caning for illegally buying and downing a cherry brandy in a hotel bar.

Charles was reported to have paid a half crown (34 cents) for the brandy last Monday in the Crown Hotel cocktail bar at Stornoway, on the Isle of Lewes. The report touched off a Buckingham Palace denial which later was retracted with a public apology for misleading the press. The incident was printed under banner headlines and raised questions as to just what form of punishment the Prince would receive on his return to the spartan-styled school. There are two possible punishments. The Prince be caned with a long, thin bamboo stick which bends at the end or he could be sent out for a long hike.

This punishment is especially reserved for boys who bring the school into disrepute. Headmaster Robert Crew, who stated before Charles' return to the school that "If punishment is to be meted out I will not reveal the exact nature of it." Thornton Infant Dies On Sunday Funeral services for Andy Franklin Thornton, 6 month old son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Franklin Thornton, 2847 Arbor Hills will be held at 2 p.m. Monday from Wright and Ferguson Chapel.

Rev. James L. Adams, of New Orleans, will officiate. Interment will be in Gulde cemetery in Rankin county. The infant died unexpectedly Sunday at home.

He was born in Jackson last December. Survivors, in addition to his parents, are a two year old sister, Jamie Ruth; his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Kate Thornton of Brandon; and his maternal grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. H.

Yemeni Raiders Seize 21 Britons ADEN (AP-Twenty-one British servicemen and women were taken prisoner by Yemeni tribesmen Sunday after a shooting clash in which four other Britons were killed and nine were wounded, the British Middle East Command announced Sunday night.
