Mr. Bozeman was a native of Terry. He was a member of the Church of Christ Holiness and attended Collis Hill. He was a veteran of World War II then moved to Jackson to start his own construction business. Survivors include: sons, Micheal Bozeman and Christopher Bozeman, both of Wood-bridge, and Cedric Bozeman of Austin, Texas; daughters, Joe Ann Bozeman Mon-cure of Tulsa, Linda Faye Bozeman and Tina Marie Bozeman, both of Woodbridge, Pamela Bozeman of Alexandria, and Debra Kaye Baukus of Dallas; brother, Car-nell Lee Bozeman of Jackson; sisters, Martha Jones of Florence, Lanier Jones of Chicago, Beatrice Wilcher of Crystal Springs, Mellonee Vaughn of Los Angeles, Arnetta Green of Jackson and Bernice Bozeman-Watson of Duarte, and seven grandchildren.

Lessie King Newman former secretary CARTHAGE Lessie King Newman, 46, a former secretary, died of complications from diabetes Sunday at St. DominicJackson Memorial Hospital in Jackson. Myricks Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Mrs. Newman was a native of Carthage. She had lived in Jackson for several years. She was a graduate of Carthage High School and attended Jackson State University.

She was later employed with Opportunities Industrialization Center. She was also employed as an administrative assistant at Southern Association Community Health Centers in Jackson, Pilgrim Rest Head Start Center, MYL Health Clinic and Central Snacks. She was a member of Faith and Deliverance Apostolic Church. She was the widow of Charlie Newman. Survivors include: son, Charles Newman Jr.

Joie Jack Goodson retired corrosion engineer DERMA Joie Jack Goodson, 67, a retired corrosion engineer for Wisconsin Pipeline Company, died of cancer Friday at home. Services are 4 p.m. today at Pryor Funeral Home with burial in New Gauley Cemetery in Calhoun City. Mr.

Goodson was an Air Force veteran. He was a member of Derma Baptist Church and the American Legion. Survivors include: wife, Rita; son, Raymond Dwight Goodson of Collierville, sister, Sue Stewart of Derma; brothers, Ralph Good-son of Derma and R.L. Goodson of Elliott; and one grandchild and two great-grandchildren. Richard Nelson Chain lineman COLUMBUS Richard Nelson Chain, 25, a lineman for Columbus Light Water, died Wednesday at Baptist Memorial Hospital Golden Triangle after he was electrocuted.

Services are 10 a.m. today at Memorial Funeral Home with burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Mr. Chain was a Columbus native. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and had worked for Columbus Light Water for four years.

Survivors include: wife, Adele; son, Dylan Chain of Columbus; parents, Billy and Frances Chain of King Salmon, Alaska; sister, Stacy Graves of Columbus; and brothers, Arnold Woolbright and Tommy Wool-bright, both of Columbus, and Mark Wool-bright of Tulsa. Dr. Bowman was a communicant of St. James Episcopal Church. He was vice chief of staff at Delta Regional Medical Center 1 99 1 -93 and chief of staff 1 993-98.

He had been a member of Alpha Omega Alpha, Phi Kappa Phi, the American Burn Association, American Medical Association and several other medical societies. Mr. Harris was a member of New Birth M.B. Church. He enjoyed fishing. Betts was a native of Meridian. He moved to Pearl from Dallas In 1985. He was a World War II veteran. He was a Methodist. Survivors include: wife, Alice; sons, Mike Betts and Gary Betts, both of Pearl; stepsons, Rusty Estes of Wichita, John Paul Estes of Meridian and Tim Estes of Richland; stepdaughter, Gloria Johnson of Pearl; brother, Bill Betts of Arizona; and nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Leonard F.Adcock retired factory worker PHILADELPHIA Leonard F. Adcock, 73, a retired factory worker, died of cardiac arrest Tuesday at his home. Services are 2 p.m. today at Sardis Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery in Smith County. Mr.

Adcock was a member of Sardis Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Navy. Waddell Bingham retired pipefitter VAIDEN Waddell Bingham, 82, a retired pipefitter, died of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident Wednesday on U.S. 51. Services are 2 p.m. today at Oliver Funeral Home with burial in Vaiden City Cemetery. Mr.

Bingham was a member of Hebron Baptist Church. He graduated from L.H. Threadgill High School of Greenwood and attended Jackson State University. Robert Pelton Bowman physician GREENVILLE Dr. Robert Pelton Bowman, 57, a physician, died of heart failure Thursday at Delta Regional Medical Center. Services are 1 1 a.m. today at St. James Episcopal Church with burial In Leland-Stoneville Cemetery.

Boone-Wells Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Dr. Bowman was a Wooster, Ohio, native. He graduated from Leland High and received his bachelor's degree from the University of Mississippi. He interned at Fitzsimmons Army Medical Center in Denver, and completed his fellowship at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.

He started a private practice in 1 977 in San Antonio before moving to Greenville in 1981. His work on hematology was published in several publications. Johnnie W. Hester, retired mill worker By Holloy Blackwell Clarion-Ledger Staff Writer Johnnie W. Hester, 76, of Barrett Street, a retired mill worker, died of heart failure Tuesday at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center.

Services are 1 1 a.m. today at College Hill Baptist Church with burial in Garden Memorial Park. Westhaven Funeral Home Is handling arrangements. Mr. Hester was a native of Holmes County and attended Holmes County public schools.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. After the war, he moved to Jackson and attended Jackson State University. Mr. Hester worked as a master cabinet maker for Mississippi Product Company for 1 5 years and then worked for Scanlon-Taylor Millwork Company for more than 30 years.

He was a member of Old Strangers Home Baptist Church in Holmes County before moving to Jackson. He joined College Hill Baptist Church and served as scout master for Boy Scout Troop No. 201 during the 1950s and '60s. He was a drill instructor and supervised hiking and camping activities. His wife of 52 years, Mary Belle, said, "He loved working with Scouts.

He just enjoyed it to the fullest. He was loved by all. He was just a kind fellow." She said that her church family described her husband as "a kind and gentle spirit, loved by family and friends alike." "His song was When the Saints Go March-ingln," she laughed. Following his retirement in 1991, he worked part-time for Mooreco Drugs. He was a member of the Elk's Club Other survivors include: son, Johnny T.

Hester of Jackson; daughter, Onzell Patty of Detroit; brother, John Hester of Chicago; sisters, Ethel Thomas of Stone Mountain, Esther Patterson of Oklahoma City and Flora Edwards of Atlanta; and one grandchild. Robert Nelson Alford retired upholsterer FOREST Robert Nelson Alford, 72, a retired upholsterer, died of cancer Thursday athishome. Mr. Alford was a Scott County native who lived in Forest since 1 994 after moving from Morton. He was a member of Crew Lake Methodist Church in Start, La. Mr. Arnold was a Charleston native. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He retired from the Mississippi Army National Guard after 28 years. He and his wife were married 33 years.

Survivors include: wife, Mary Ann; daughter, Donnie Arnold of West Point; sons, Barry Arnold of Pleasant View, and Jason Arnold of West Point; sister, Dorothy Arnold Champion of Ferriday, and three grandchildren.
