Oak Industries Inc. announced that ON TVChicago, an Oak over-the-air subscription service (STV), has entered into an agreement with SportsVision of Chicago to provide the Chicago area with the nation's first local all-sports pay television programming. SportsVision will offer its subscribers sports programming every night of the year, plus many Saturday and Sunday afternoons The programming will consist of 250 games featuring Chicago professional sports teams, including White Sox baseball, Bulls basketball, Blackhawks hockey and Sting soccer. There will also be a variety of regional professional and intercollegiate sports. In total, SportsVision will provide 425 events a year, commencing early in 1982.

The programming will be broadcast over Channel 60, a new UHF television station.
