(UPI) Black Rock Contracting of Charleston, has been pur- c'lased by a Beckley firm in what is believed to be one of the largest financial transac- tion in the history of the con- struction industry in West Vir- ginia. Black Rock was bought by Vecellio and Grogan of Beck- ley. Details of the purchase were 'not announced, but a Ve- cellio and Grogan spokesman confirmed the deal. Black Rock was a subsidiary of MCQ Industries of Colum- bus, Ohio.

The three companies, accord- ing to state Highways Depart- ment records, are engaged in nearly S200 million worth oJ road building. Vecellio and Grogan is prime contractor for the $22 million Fort Hill Interstate 64 inter- change in Charleston, while Black Rock is involved in sev- eral Appalachian highway sys- tem contracts.
