A-7 F5EV1EW PHILADELPHIA DAILY NEWS THURSDAY, JUNE 24, 1371 Were it not for the fact that their efforts are designed as a charity venture benefitting the Texas Heart Institute, it would all read like some corny PR. A group of nineteen doctors and eight friends have formed a musical group in Houston called The Heartbeats. Their first album, on the Medical Classics Label, will be called "The Heartbeats Again." Most albums, of course, are recorded for less noble ends. But if the artist can make some good music in the process, that's healthy justification aplenty. NILSSON, "Aerial Pandemonium Ballet" (RCA) Some people really want to get their money's worth.

Harry has taken material from his first two albums, added and subtracted tracks, remixed and re-released it. Kind of getting his last licks where few get the opportunity. But in the end it emerges as the most sensitive stuff he's ever recorded. He may be cheap, but he sure can sing. Robert Adels WEATHER REPORT, (Columbia) Great expectations always involve receiving more for one's satisfaction than had been expected.

When Joe Zawinul, Wayne Shorter, Moroslav Vitous, Airto Morei-ro and Alphonze Mouzon let out the word that they were recording an album together, the expectations were high in deed, for a new musical unit made up of finer musicians was hard to imagine. Weather Report doesn't disappoint, it's one of this year's best, and it is as integrated in terms of musical idioms, intentions and influences, as it is in nationalities. Much is done in the area of tone-coloring, that is, using both the orthodox and unorthodox musical potentialities of each instrument. Even though most of the music is spontaneous, the experimentation never supersedes the unity of the music. And when it's in the hands of virtuosi like this, you've got quite a combination.
