The two buildings, of glass in aluminum frames, will look like two arcs of a circle, set on either side of a ground level arcade and a terrace opening on to Logan Circle. Both the 27-story Logan House hotel and the 35-story Logan Tower condominium will slope down toward the circle in a series of steps. THE BUILDINGS will be constructed of glare-reducing silver mirror glass, supported by aluminum frames, to reflect the tan.

General Telephone has announced it is pulling out in the next year. Johns-Manville recently announced it was going to Denver. RISING COSTS, crime in the streets, high taxes, racial and labor troubles and general crowding and tensions have been given as some of the reasons for this exodus. "I think all these problems will be solved," he said. "They have boiled up very fast in recent years, and it's possible they will be solved more rapidly than most pessimists think." Initial capacity will be 450 cars self-parking, expandable to 650 cars with valet parking. Cherry street will be widened to alleviate traffic congestion.

Solow said the biggest single problem for the office building operator in New York City has been the dwindling reservoir of desirable office workers. "The big reason there are fewer desirable workers is the tight housing situation and tight rent control has been largely responsible for that," Solow insisted. "Now that Governor Rockefeller has managed to get a gradual rent decontrol program authorized by the legislature, we ultimately should get more middle class housing." Y. Hon Big a Furnace Does Home Need? By DOUGLAS TOUMEY We expect to have a new gas furnace installed this summer before the heating season begins. How do we determine the size furnace required? A The size and number of BTUs required depends on many variables the types of insulation you may have in your home, number of windows, the average temperature you want to maintain and so on. If you call in your local gas company representative, he'll count the number of fins on your radiators, ask a few questions and advise the size furnace needed for your requirements. Chester Farm On the Block Fuzzydele Farm, a gentleman's farm, in Chester County, will be sold at auction next Thursday.

The sale will be conducted by the Louis Traiman Auction Co. The 135-acre farm with a restored stone residence, fully equipped showplace barn and several other buildings, will be sold as an entirety at noon. A separate auction, starting at 10 A.M., will be held for personal property. Both sales are absolute with the properties being sold to the highest bidders. NEW YORK Sheldon Solow of New York must rate as one of the country's most optimistic businessmen.

There are more than 10 million square feet of empty office space in mid-Manhattan, twice the empty space of six months ago. Corporations are fleeing the city. Yet Solow is putting up a 50-story, radically designed office tower on West 57th st. just off Fifth Avenue. Solow, who has built luxury apartment buildings but never an office building before, is not dismayed by the migration of companies out of Manhat provide a clear, uncluttered from Cherry st, will provide a clar, uncluttered view of a landscaped terrace fronting on Logan Circle with the fountain in the background.

THE LOBBY also will link condominium residents with the services provided by the hotel. Apartments will range from approximately 900 to 1900 square feet in size. They will have up to three bedrooms and baths. Prices will begin at Scheduled for completion late in 1973, the complex is a joint venture of INA Properties, real estate subsidiary of Insurance Company of North America, and Bankers Securities Corporation. of the office rental business, he believes office rents in New York will be higher two years from now than they were a year and a half ago.

Right now they are down substantially from the late 1969 level. SOLOW SAID one reason for the high vacancy level and slump in office rents in New York today is that many big companies speculated in office space in 1968 and 1969. "They rented much more space than they needed in new buildings, hoping to sublet a profit. The recession spoiled their plans." In spite of reports that the exodus of companies from New York is accelerating, a recent study showed that, while vacant office space in Manhattan available for immediate occupancy has roughly doubled since November, the vacancy rate of all office buildings is only 6 to 7 percent. That's about average for the country's larger cities and is tiny in comparison with the 25 percent rate in 1935.

That was in the depth of the depression with very little new office building going up. Today new buildings are going up all over Manhattan. 5 Tracts in Burlco To Be Sold at Auction Five tracts encompassing 330 acres in the Medford Lakes section of Burlington County, N.J., will be sold at auction June 25 at 1 P.M. (Ktei and Tabernacle rd. i jh vmmmmmmm J--TJJVN. SZ M13 We're in the process of having a new gas stove installed, and the contractor insists the stove will require a separate flue. My husband has ordered him to connect it to the gas water-heater flue. Is this going to be dangerous? A Each unit served by a chimney should have a separate flue.

If the flue is clay lined it shouldn't be dangerous, but the draft for the heater will be cut drastically and the unit won't operate efficiently. Whenever we use a larger quantity of hot water, the overflow pipe on the outside of the house gushes hot water for quite a while. This seems to be "I solved the hot water overflow." a terrible waste of hot water besides messing up our patio onto which it runs. Can this be corrected? If so, how? A I can't visualize the type of overflow pipe to which you refer. Something is definitely wrong and you should immediately call a plumber.
