The probes will go through the planet's heavy radiation belt to within 90,000 miles of the surface if Jupiter has a "surface" In earth terms. The planet is so far away and has such a thick atmosphere that scientists are uncertain of its exact size or composition. Mrs. L. Howell Denies Charge Mrs.

'V" VV A ban on snowmobile operation between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. In areas open to deer hunting was among a set of rules announced Tuesday for snowmobile operators by Jarle Leirfallom, state conservation commissioner. The regulations and a new law passed by the 1969 Legislature add up to a new set of guidelines for snowmo-bilers. Among the new regula tions is a provision requiring manufacturers to equip new machines with quieter mur flers by next season.

This year, both residents and non residents using snowmobiles for pleasure must have their vehicle censed for use anywhere in the state. The new law requires' snowmobile education and training programs to be taught for all persons between 14 and 18 wanting to operate a machine across highways. Classes start in December at training centers in Bemid-ji, Faribault and Pine City. Persons under 14 years of age cannot operate a snowmobile across highways. This year, guns may be carried on snowmobiles if they are unloaded and cased during the firearms deer sea son.

Leirfallom's new regula tions say the state wildlife management areas in the northern tier of counties gen erally will be open to use by snowmobiles. However, there will not be marked trails such as are being provided in state parks and state forests. Leirfallom said he has the right to post areas within wildlife areas where snowmobiles cannot be used, such as where there are heavy concentrations of game, THE OVEN to ao is tnrow tne coys the tootbaii and tney gei themselves ready." The Wildcats have beaten every team they had any right to be with on the same field; and they have every 'right to be on the same field with the Gophers. They haven't had any defeats they should be ashamed of. tThe teams they have not beaten are Notre Dame, Southern California, UCLA, Purdue and Ohio State, the JUe of the nation.

This week they are coming into a game in which iheir chances are good. It's about time or, I probably should say too late for the Gophers to quit relishing that victory at Iowa 'and think about Northwestern. By TOM BRIERE Minneapolis Tribune Staff Writer Reports are prevalent that DuWayne Deitz will be coaching White Bear Lake in his final game against Kellogg for the Suburban Conference football championship in the Playoff Bowl at O'Shaughnessy Stadium Thursday night.

Reports indicate that Deitz was caught up in intra-school politics stemming from the salary dispute this tall. Deitz said he did not wish to be quoted on the subject until the end of the football season. "Then I'll have a decision to make," said Deitz. There are rumors around the Suburban that Deitz already has resigned. He would not confirm that.

Rumors have linked Deitz with St. Thomas College football, but coach Nate Harlan of the Tommies has not abdicated yet nor have Tom officials retired Harlan. "I have no knowledge that the St. Thomas job is open," said Deitz. This season White Bear Lake is 6-2 over-all, scoring 203 points and giving up 98.
