B-8 Kabel Mrs. Magraret Ann Kabel, 85, of 523 W. Moro Drive, Moro, a lifelong resident of the Moro area, died at 6:55 p.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph's Hospital.

She entered the hospital 12 weeks ago after having been in falling health for a year. The former Margaret Ann Green, she was born Oct. 21, 1882, at Moro, 1 a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ephraim Green.

She had been active in church, fraternal and civic projects in the area for many years. A longtime member of First Presby. terian Church, Moro, she had been active in work of the Women's Association of the church; had served as director of Moro Cemetery, was a past worthy matron of Bethalto Order of Eastern Star, and a number of years ago had served as Moro Correspondent for the Alton Telegraph. Her husband, George Kabel, whom she married in 1901 at Moro, died in 1943. Survivors are three daughters, Miss Georgia M.

Kabel, Alton; Mrs. James L. (Helen) Brazier, Moro, and Mrs. E. G.

(Marian) Johnson, Moro; a son, Myron Champaign; a sister, Mrs. Charles Mehl, St. Louis, and a brother, Ralph E. Green, Monroe, and six grandchildren and 25 great dren. One daughter preceded her in death.

The Rev. Wayne Hoxsle and Rev. A. Ralph Lynn will officiate at services Friday at 11 a.m. in Moro Presbyterian Church.

Burial will be in 1 Moro Cemetery. Visitation at Smith Funeral Home, Alton, will be from 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Thursday. Madison County Easter Seal Society and Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children have been named as memorials. Stephenson Funeral services for Mrs. Emily' Brankley Stephenson of 728 Royal will be Thursday at 2 p.m. in St.

Paul's Episcopal Church with the Rev. John M. Young officiating. Burial will be in Valhalla Memorial Park with Morrow Quinn Mortuary in charge of arrangements, Visitation at St. Paul's Episcopal Church will be from 7 p.m.

to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m. to 12 noon Thursday. Mrs. Stephenson, the widow of J.

W. Stephenson, died Tuesday at 7:30 a.m. in Alton Memorial Hospital. She had been ill and hospitalized only four days. A resident of Alton for 56 years, Mrs.

Stephenson was born at Beverley, East Yorkshire, England. Her marriage to J. W. Stephenson took place in 1911 at St. Paul's Church.

She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, St. Elizabeth's Guild of the church and Chapter 775, Order of Eastern Star. Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Robert Leslie, Gulfport, and Mrs.

James W. Maloney, Aurora, N.Y., a son, Edward, Downers Grove; a sister, Mrs. Jack Bozman, Hessle, STREEPER Funeral Home 1620 Washington Obituaries East Yorkshire, England; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Her husband died in 1956, and a brother also preceded her in death. St.

Paul's Book of Rememberance of St. Paul's Episcopal Church has been named as a memorial. Hardcastle CARROLLTON Funeral services for John Robert Hardcastle, 60, of Ferguson, formerly of Carrollton, will be Thursday at 2 p.m. in Mehl Funeral Home with the Rev. Phil Pierce, pastor of the Methodist Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Carrollton City Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will be after 4 p.m, today. Mr. Hardcastle, who was in the mortgage and lease business in Ferguson and Carrollton, died Monday in Missouri Baptist Hospital, St. Louis, where he had been a patient one week.

A son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John, Hardcastle, he was born Jan. 13, 1907, in Carrollton. He was graduated from Carrollton High School and attended Illinois College at Jacksonville.

He had lived in St. Louis area for 35 years, but had maintained his church membership at Carrollton Methodist Church. His first wife, the former Virginia Brown Fullerton, died in 1964, and his second wife, the former Nellie Knight Powell, died in 1966. Two step-daughters, Mrs. Martha Stedeback, Carrollton, and Janet Powell, Ferguson, step-sons, Douglas, David land Bruce Powell, Ferguson, survive.

There are five step grandchildren. Kruckeberg EDWARDSVILLE Edward C. Kruckeberg, 74, of Rte. 2, wardsville, died at 1:06 a.m. today at Alton Memorial Hospital.

A retired farmer, he was born March 21, 1893 at Worden. He was married Feb. 11, 1918, to Matilda Dustmann, who survives. Also surviving are two sons and a daughter, Eugene of Alton; Clifford and Mrs. Norval Bunt, both of Rte.

2, Edwardsville. Other survivors include a brother, Otto of Worden; a sister, Mrs. Julius Henke of Rte. 2, Edwardsville; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was a member of Eden United Church of Christ, where funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m.

Friday by the pastor, the Rev. Donald Crismon. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m.

Thursday until 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Weber Funeral Home. Schnyder EDWARDSVILLE Mrs. Emma Schnyder, an Edwardsville resident the past 25 years, died at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Madison County Nursing Home where she had resided the past seven years.

A former resident of Newkirk, Okla. where she and her husband farmed for 25 years, she was born July 18, 1879, in Ft. Russell Township. She was married Nov. 6, 1901, to Siegfried (Fred) Schnyder, who died May 30, 1950.

She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Monday, at Alton Memorial Hospital. She was the widow of the late Edson A. Dodge. Mrs. Dodge was born Sept.

24, (1890, in Jerseyville, the daughter of Fred W. Geers and Lena M. Newberry. She is survived by one ter, Mrs. Velma Bosworth, Jerseyville; and by two nephews, Robert Bosworth, Jerseyville, and Fred Bosworth, Herrin.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Jacoby Brothers Funeral Home Jerseyville, with Rev. Louis! Purcell officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m.

Clara Schenke Hohmann were held Monday at 1 p.m. in Burke Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Stevens, pastor of United Church of Christ, Evangelical, officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery, Staunton. Pallbearers were Richard Schenke Harold Schenke, Gene Gelzinnis, Karl Meier, Carl Schmidt, and William Smythe.

Pruett Funeral Following services Monday in Smith Funeral Home, Bethalto, the body of Mrs. Alta Pruett was taken to Bethalto City Cemetery for burial. The Rev. Keith Stanford, pastor of First Baptist Church, Bethalto, officiated. Pallbearers were Jack McCelland, Larry Ray, Virgil Pruett, Sam Micotto, Harold Prange, and Oliver McDaniel.

Yungck Funeral With the Rev. Charles StevJens, pastor of United Church of Christ, Evangelical, officiating, services for Mrs. Emily Yungck were held Tuesday at 1 p.m. in Gent Chapel. Burial was in Upper Alton Cemetery.

The 17-year-old Thweatt, son of Terry Thweatt, hoodlum and labor strongarm man, died in a of blood outside the Full Moon Tavern near Granite City, after being struck under the right eye by a 45 caliber slug early on Sunday morning, Oct. 1. The two-count murder indictment against Wallace was returned by the county grand jury Oct. 2. Authorities at the time of the slaying said young Thweatt apparently walked into the middie of a feud between people in the tavern and the killer who drove in front and shot up the tavern on Rte.

111 south of the Old Lakeside Airport. Thweatt lived with his father on Chouteau Slough road outside Mitchell. Kasperak Sitting Up, Dangles Legs STANFORD, Calif. AP) The world's fourth heart transplant patient, Mike Kasperak, was able to sit up and dangle his legs over the edge of his bed at Stanford Medical Center today, doctors said. They advised the exercise to maintain circulation.

Kasperak's condition was listed as critical "but improving" on the fourth day after his operation, following complications and a setback. The fifth such operation was performed Tuesday at Maimonides Hospital in Brooklyn, N.Y. The 59-year-old steelworker's condition has been considered satisfactory until Monday, when internal bleeding developed. Physicians said six pints of blood were transfused. "Gastro-intestinal bleeding has stopped, and liver and kidney functions have slightly improved," the bulletin said.

Meanwhile the body of Mrs. Virginia White, 43, donor of the heart transplanted to Kasperak, was buried in Palo Alto. "This was a humble yet famous thing, a history. event," said' the Rev. Watten R.

Bowles Talks With Sihanouk Frank, Cordial PHNOM PENH (AP) U.S. Ambassador Chester Bowles conferred with Prince Norodom Sihanouk for the first time today. Cambodian officials said the talk was "frank and cordial" and "useful points of view were exchanged." No details of the one-hour meeting were disclosed. Bowles arrived in Phnom Penh Monday to discuss Communist use of Cambodian territory as a refuge from U.S.
