different events. The words and images won't be pretty. "Walk for Peace," which starts and ends at American Street and Lehigh Avenue in the Fairhill section, focuses on violence against youth. A closing rally will feature talks by two teen-age girls one whose family has been devastated by four shootings in the last five years. Co-sponsors include the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, with Cardinal Anthony J.

Bevilacqua participating, and the Hispanic Clergy of Philadelphia, predominantly Protestant evangelicals. "Sabbath of Domestic Peace," an interfaith worship that mobilizes clergy and congregations against domestic violence, will be held at Temple Beth Zion- Beth Israel, 18th and Spruce in Center City. This year's "Domestic Peace" sponsors are drawn from the Jewish community, with Protestants, Catholics and Muslims participating. "We want people to understand that we are losing our children to violence and we need to start talking about ways we can get along together," Collazo said yesterday.

"We need to listen to the children, hear them talk about their fears and and their anger, so they can get on with their lives," she said. "Unfortunately children live in a very violent society." Crystal Vargas, 13, who attends Community Academy, will deliver a powerful message, Collazo said. Shell read poetry she has written about the way violence has affected her life. In the past five years, a Vargas sister and a cousin were gunned down and the boyfriends of two other sisters were shot dead.
