She attended the College of San Mateo, and while pursuing a degree in business, she worked for the U.S. Geological Survey in Menlo Park, Calif.

He was state Poster Child for the Muscular Dystrophy Association for three years. He was active in telethons and fund raisings and, for his efforts, was made an honorary Kappa Alpha at Delta State Uni-' versrty and the University of Mississippi.

Because he suffered from the congenital muscular dystrophy, "he really never knew what it was like to be a normal, active child," said his father, Michael Patter-' son of Cleveland. He was state Poster Child when he was 6, 7 and 8 and flew throughout the South for fund raisings and telethons. "The most remarkable thing was that he finished high school, married and had a child who is now 7 months old, and everything appears to be OK with her health," the elder Patterson said.
