Seneca High School, playing its first year of varsity football, pulled the shocker of the young season Saturday night when it defeated host Triton 2-0 on the strength of a safety in the first quarter. Triton had possession on its own 5-yard line when Seneca's defensive end Kyle Girard broke through and tackled halfback Matt Colucci in the end zone for the safety. The Mustangs made a bid to pull it out in the final minute but an attempt to spike the ball and stop the clock with eight seconds left resulted in a fumble by the quarterback. Seneca recovered and ran out the clock.

Seneca came into the game at 0-2 but had played tough against two teams ranked in the Courier-Post's Large Schools Top 10 Shawnee and Pemberton. The Golden Eagles had everyone back from a junior varsity team that went 9-1 and coach Bill Fisher, who had previously coached at Triton, came into the season with an outlook "to be competitive in every game, although we lack ond on a 25-yard run for the Cougars. The Cougars, who scored all of their points in three quarters, got other touchdowns from Jamarr Johnson on a 27-yard pass from Jeff Hoyer, Andrew Badger on a 5-yard run, and Keith Bartee on a 15-yard sweep. BurlcoOlympic League Florence 32, Borden-town 0: Matt Ordog passed for two touchdowns and ran 12 yards for another six-pointer as Florence, 3-0 and No. 3 in the Small School Top 10, ran over Bordentown in a Freedom Division game.

Washington Twp. 27, Pennsauken 13: Ryan D'lm-perio scored a pair of touchdowns, and Jesse Cooper scored on a 53-yard run and helped set up both D'Imperio TDs as the Minutemen defeated visiting Pennsauken. D'Imperio scored on a 2-yard run in the third quarter and a 1-yard run in the fourth. Cooper set up D'Imperio's first TD by picking up 63 yards on two plays, and set up his second score with an interception, giving Township the ball on the Pennsauken 16. Nonleague Morris Cath.
