Streng served for more than 30 years as director of the Camden County Board of Social Services until he retired in 1979. Then for another decade, he had a private law practice in Merchantville, where he lived for 43 years. Mr. Streng was a vigorous advocate for welfare clients. He was a 61-year member of the county bar association.

He also was a long-time member of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church in Merchantville. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mildred; a daughter, Karen, at home; and two sisters, Lillian McKernan of Merchantville and McMAHON, Claire J. Vitagliano, 71, of Oaklyn, died Wednesday at Underwood- -Memorial Hospital, Wood bury. A resident of Oaklyn for the past 40 years, he was born and raisedl in Camden. Prior to retiring, Mr. Vitagliano was a deli manager for Pathmark supermarket. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving on the USS Wyonning and USS Atlanta.

He served in the American Theater, the European Theater and the Asiatic Pacific. He also was a member of the Collingswood Community Senior Citizens Club and the Cinnaminson Bocci Club. He is survived by his wife, Joan T. (nee Casey); six sons, Gregg and Christopher of Florida, Stephan of Cherry Hill, Robert of Audubon, William Gunn of Washington state, and James Gunn of Drums, one daughter, Linda Ware Deptford; one brother, Frank of Collingswood; one sister, Rose Bonomo of Camden; and 13 grandchildren. Mr. Milcarek was born in Camden and was an Air Force veteran. He recently retired as a driver for Vi-Tech Photography in Camden. He was a member of St. Anne's Roman Catholic Church in Westville.

He is survived by four sons, Robert of Sea Isle City, Leonard J. of Penn Yan, N.Y., Edmund of Billingsport and Thomas of Franklinville; a brother, Vincent. of Pleasantville; a sister, Josephine Gallen of Blackwood; five grandchildren; and a dear friend, Rosa Miles of Westville. Born in Philadelphia, he was employed by Bell Atlantic in Pole Tavern, Salem County, as a communications technician for 23 years. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union Local 827 and was past vice president of St. Margaret's PTA, Woodbuty Heights. was involved in fund activities for the following groups: Parents Anonymous of Princeton, Popcorn Park Zoo of Forked River, the American Heart Association bf Upper New York and the American Red Cross of Connecticut. He is survived by his wife.
