The site, off Hartford Road here, also is adjacent to a 5-acre tract targeted for a county recycling center. The fact that the two projects would be located so close to the high school has incensed school officials who said the salvage yard and recycling center would be an eyesore and health risk for area young people.

"How we treat the old and young says something about our society and surrounding them with junk is not a good idea, said Ron Napoli, president of the school board. The group is opposed to the plan because the salvage yard would be an attractive nusiance to the students and because material from the yard could contaminate the soil, Napoli said. Napoli said he learned through a telephone conversation with a friend last Friday that the planning board would consider the application by National Auto Salvage Inc. of Bridgeboro at its meeting tonight. National Auto is owned by American Mobile Parks of Bala Cynwyd, Pa.

Napoli said residents gathered Obituaries Sara Kavanaugh, COLLINGSWOOD Services will be tonight for Sara B. Kavanaugh, who helped found the Food Bank of South Jersey. Mrs. Kavanaugh (nee Brady and the former Mrs. McCormick) died Sunday at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center in Camden.

She was 80. A 1923 graduate of Camden Catholic High School, Mrs. Kavanaugh was office manager at J.P. Mealey Co. in Gloucester City from 1924 to 1949.

Then until 1974, she managed her husband's insurance agency, the Raymond V. Kavanaugh Ins. Agency in Philadelphia. Until 1985, she was an administrative assistant at United Way of Camden County. At 78, Mrs.

Kavanaugh joined the Vista Program of the Peace Corps and helped found the food bank, for which she was honored by President Reagan, Gov. Thomas H. Kean and Rep. James J. Florio.

She was named Girl Frank K. Tamney, WILLINGBORO A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated here tomorrow for Frank K. Tamney, an engineer at RCA and 20-year resident of Willingboro. Mr. Tamney died Monday at Zurbrugg Memorial Hospital Rancocas Valley Division, after a lengthy illness.

He was 79. Born in Philadelphia, Mr. Tamney was a graduate of the Drexel Institute of Technology in Philadelphia, where he studied electrical engineering. For 35 years, he worked at RCA in Camden as a process test engineer until his retirement in 1971. An avid numismatist, Mr.

Tamney was a co-founder and past president of the Camden County Coin Club. He was also very active with the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 34 in Cramer Hill and Troop 83 here, and served as a civil defense radio director here. Fulvio Croce, taught OAKLYN A Mass will be held here Saturday for Fulvio A. Croce, an elementary school teacher in the Lindenwold school district in the early 1950s. The Mass will be at 9 a.m.

at St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church on Holly Avenue here. Mr. Croce died of a heart attack Oct. 16 in a hospital in Landstuhl, West Germany.

He was 64. Mr. Croce taught in the Lindenwold schools before accepting a position with the U.S. government to teach the children of Americans abroad. He taught in France, Italy and Germany, where he retired in 1986 after a 30-year career.

"It was an opportunity for him to travel," said his sister, Norma Bal-ducci of Oaklyn. "He used to call Eugene MacDonald, PENNSAUKEN A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered tomorrow for Eugene A. MacDonald, a township resident who had been a partner in the former McNichol and MacDonald Tool Co. in the Lenola section of Moorestown. Mr.

MacDonald, who died Tuesday in his home, was 76. A native of Downingtown, he had lived here for 50 years. He was a partner in the company from 1941 until 1952, when it was sold. He later worked for the U.S. Pipe Foundry Co.

Councilman Andrew Ritzie, who also sits on the planning said he does not believe that the. project is appropriate for the site, but plans to keep an open mind at tonight's meeting.
