Handle Yankees'Murcer Fractures Hand NEW YORK (UPI) The New York Yankees revealed Monday that outfielder Bobby Murcer broke his right hand in Puerto Rico' last week, but is expected to be in shape by the Feb. 28 spring camp opening at Ft. Murcer hurt his hand after he competed in the American Airlines golf tournament at San Juan. He tripped over some luggage in his room and fell heavily, fracturing the meta- carpal bone. Dr. Sidney Gaynor, the club physician, said it was a small, clean break at the base of the third metacarpal bone. No setting was necessary, but Murcer's was placed in a cast up to his elbow.
