He was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 1024 and American Legion Post 294. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, enjoyed watching western movies and spending time with his family and friends. Memorials may be given to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church or American Heart Association. Thor-son, 92, of Morris, passed away Thursday evening, February 19, 2015, at Morris Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Morris with Pastor Patrick Lohse officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.

II and served in the U.S. Army. He married Sophie Such on February 16, 1958. She preceded him in death in 1994. Glenn married Rose Mickelson on February 7, 1998 and they lived all of their married life in Morris.

Newman, 90, of Morris, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2015 at the Morris Hospital. Born October 18, 1924 in New Boston, Ohio, he was the son of the late William and Mattie (Liles) Newman. Leo was educated in schools in New Boston and Portsmouth, Ohio. Leo served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the South Pacific Theater of Operations.

He married Barbara J. Cameron in Ottawa. Leo was employed by the Morris Paper Mill for over 40 years and then worked at the Morris Hospital in the maintenance department for 10 years until his retirement in 1992. Surviving is one daughter, Rhonda J. (Robert) Fosen of Oswego, IL; and one son, Leo E.
