22 COURIER-POST. CHERRY HILL, N.J. Friday, June 9, 1 978 Heading down to the shore ANNOUNCING THE BALLET Continued from Page 13 that rentals for Wildwood Crest are "very open in early July but August is booked up." She says the going rate for a two-bedroom place equipped to sleep six is $275 a week from July 1 through Labor Day. In Wildwood proper, cottages are gone but apartments are still available from June to Labor Day. So says Oscar Tanenbaum of Tanenbaum Realty in Wildwood.

Tanenbaum estimates that a two-bedroom apartment in the beach block woll run $275 to $325 a week this summer. Mark Forrest says of Wildwood Crest: "It's Italian. Basically, people own their own homes with some rentals. A lot of families are older people who've made some money. It's a quiet place and the beaches and homes are well maintained." Forrest says of North Wild-wood: "There are more year-round people, more kids and teenagers.

It's a step down the economic scale from Wildwood Crest." Of Wildwood proper, Forrest says: "There area lot of kids and older people on the make. The bars are open late, and you can get everything in Wildwood that you can get in Atlantic City except a legal crap game. It's a loud, garish, great place to be between 16 and 19. As I see it, people come to Wildwood for three reasons: They want to get a suntan, they want to get a date, they want to raise hell. It's a place designed for the day tripper or the weekender." Forrest adds that there are amusement rides for the kids.
