Thus, while the salary increases are substantial, the board hopes to be able to cut the tax levy somewhat by the other savings. It was moved by Hertz, seconded by Stevens, and, upon the roll being called, unanimously adopted that the District recognize the value of a Masters Degree and that an additional increment of $200 be given to those teachers such certification. holding It was moved by Hertz, seconded by Stevens, that the salary of Newell P. Crink, as school super- tendent, for the 1957-1958 school year be set at $6400. Upon the roll being called, each Director voted in the affirmative. C. A new club, the O.T.O., sprang into being in the Silver City community last Friday when a group of neighbor ladies met at the home of Mrs. Fay Morrical. They decided to meet the second Thursday afternoon of each month which supplied the name, "Our Thursday Off." Officers of the new group are Mrs. Dorothy Morrical, president; Mrs.

Eileyn Hammers, vice president, Mrs. Viola Gorman, secretary and treasurer and Mrs. Susie Stewart. The club voted to have secre 1 pals. The next meeting will be April 11 at the home of Mrs Hammers.

G. Fornoff attended the funeral services Saturday of an old friend, Mrs Henry Borne, a long time resident of Plattsmouth. Mrs. Louie Schoening, mother of Clifford Schoening, passed away early Sanday morning at Mercy hospital after only a short illness there. Sunday guests at a birthday dinner for C.

THE MALVERN LEADER, Malvem, Mar. 21,1957 7 Legion, Auxiliary Birthday Party A rainy night failed to cut attendance at the March meeting of the American Legion Auxiliary last Wednesday. Final plans made for the Legion and Auxiliary birthday party which was held Friday evening. For this Edna Kruse made the cake and the 1 Legion furnished the ice cream. At the Auxiliary meeting the unit decided to donate to the Red Cross and Wilma Pullman had the community program.

The next meeting will be April 10. Hostesses, Grace Goos, Mildred Kruse, Laura Tasto. Wllraa Jones will have the program on child welfare. Mrs. Ralph Hansen and Mrs.

Clifford Schoening attended the Neighborhood Club Friday afternoon at the Clarence Mass home. Ale Cecil G. Williams and A3c Dave LeTourneau of Shilling A. F. Salina, drove in Friday for a visit with Cecil's parents, Mr.

and Mrs. W. H. Williams, Pauline and Doyle. All, with Miss Betty Kahl, returned to Salina Saturday to the dedication of the Smokey Hill AFB and to watch an air show which included demonstrations of many of thp newest type planes.

They returned to Silver City Saturday evening and on Sunday were dinner guests in the Myron Schoening home. Glenwood and also called on relatives In the Stiver City vicinity.
