POST, Saturday, October 13, 1990 Man convicted of fraud 6th time Suspect who fooled cellmate missing as jury returns verdict By RENEE WINKLER Courier-Post Staff CAMDEN Robert Chinni made a lot of promises to a fellow inmate at Leesburg State Prison in 1988. He said he had a top-flight lawyer who for the right fee would draft and argue a motion to win the early release of the cellmate. The fee was $35,000. The fellow inmate, James Stach, serving a term for a drug charge, was broke, but he believed in Chinni, probably because he didn't know the 43-year-old Hackensack man had five prior convictions for fraud. Chinni now has six convictions, and is the subject of a fugitive warrant issued by Superior Court Judge Joseph Greene after he failed to show up last week for the last day of his trial.

He was 66. Mr. Lourie was the president and owner of Hann Company, with offices in Bridgeton and Edison. He was a former New York resident and had lived in Bridgeton for the past 40 years. Mr.

Lourie was a member of the Cumberland County Improvement Authority, New Jersey Automobile Dealers Association, Bankers Anonymous, the Advisory Board of Cumberland Manor, Farmers and Merchants National Bank Advisory Board, and Beth Abraham Synagogue of Bridgeton. He was also a former member of the Fairfield Township Planning Board. Surviving are his wife, Sydell (nee Schuman); a daughter, Terry Wimmer of Cherry Hill; and a grandson. Services will be at noon tomorrow from Padgett Funeral Home, State Highway 77, Bridgeton. Burial will be in Chevra Kadisha of Alliance Cemetery, Norma, Salem County.
