Sunday, September 15,1996 COMMITMENTS Section 9 CLF- ANNIVERSARIES Locastios celebrate 60th araiiversary Joseph and Tina Locascio of Streamwood celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a surprise party thrown by their children on Aug. 18 in Schaumburg. The party was attended by family and friends. The couple met when Joe delivered coal from his father's coal company to Tina's parents' home. She was ironing, and it was "love at first sight." Three years later Joe and Tina eloped.

They were married on Aug. 22,1936, in Waukegan. LaRoccos celebrate 50th anniversary Casey and Anne LaRocco of Des Plaines celebrated their golden wedding anniversary with a gathering for family and friends at the Brigante Banquet Hall. The couple met through a mutual friend at a Softball game played at the intersection of Kedzie and Chicago avenues in downtown Chicago. They were married Sept 15,1946, in Chicago.

The LaRoccos have two children: Caz (Mary) LaRocco of Elk Grove Village; and Bonnie (PauD WEDDINGS Melanie Schumacher, Scott Rahmel Melanie Schumacher, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur (Jonc) Schumacher of Chapin, 111., and Scott Rahmel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry (Karen) Rahmel of Dundee, were married June 15 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Springfield Melanie chose her sister, Melissa Schumacher of Springfield, to be maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were the groom's sisters, Heather and Rebecca Rahmel of Dundee; the bride's cousin, Tara Stier of Prior Lake, Jill Schone of Chicago; Jennifer Sobel of Palatine; and Heidi Ruehle of Chicago. Flower girls were the bride's cousins, Caitlyn Ruckman and Lindsey Gomez, Christine Kalinski, 1st Lt. Nicholas Petrone Christine Kalinski, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert (Linda) Kalinski of Arlington Heights, and 1st Lt.

Nicholas Petrone, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hall of Salisbury, N.C., and Mr, and Mrs. Ronald Petrone of Parsons, were married July 20 at Our Lady of the Wayside Catholic Church. Christine chose her sister, Jennifer Kalinski of Arlington Heights, to be maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Samantha Lynch of Madison, Pam Lassa of San Antonio; the bride's cousin, Nicole Rzepka of Atlanta; and Lisa Prazuch of Arlington Heights. Nicholas'chose his cousin; Justin Cordova of maiuGrooffismen were the The Locascios have six children: Angie (Harry) Fisher of McHenry; Jay (Michele) Locascio of Crystal Lake; Louie (Bonnie) Locascio of Silver Lake, Jo (Jim) Crichton of Schaumburg; twins Len (Liz) Locascio of Hoffinan Estates and the late Joe Locascio; 16 grandchildren (including the late Joey Spina); and 12 with another due in October. Tina, 80, was born in Chicago. She is a homemaker who enjoys cooking, baking, traveling and shopping in her leisure time. Joseph, 82, was boim in Madison, Wis.

He was employed by the Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Locascio Chicago Park District, retiring in 1979 after 25 years of service. His favorite pastimes include playing cards and going to the racetrack. Mr.

and Mrs. Casey LaRocco on their wedding and today Grantner of Munster, Ind; and six grandchildren. Anne, 72, was bom in Chicago. She was employed as a cook with PEC Daycare, retiring in 1982 after five years of service. Casey, 74, was born in Chicago.

He was employed as a salesman and driver for Old Style beer, retiring in 1986 after 30 years of service. The LaRoccos enjoy vacationing in Las Vegas in their leisure time. Scott chose Christopher Dana of Exton, to be best man. Groomsmen were the groom's cousin, Brian Swanson of Carpentersville; Derek Woodward of Valparaiso, David Lawrence of. Dunwoody, Matthew Ries of Elmhurst; and the bride's brothers Ryan and Kyle Schumacher of Chapin, 111.

The bride's brother, Kendall Schumacher; and the groom's brother, Jason Rahmel, stood as acolytes. Ushers were the bride's cousins, Tim and Mark Schumacher of Chapin. 111. Melanie received a bachelor's degree in education from Valparaiso University, Valparaiso, in 1995. She is employed as a first- grade teacher at Immanuel Lutheran School in Valparaiso, Ind Scott received a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering groom's step-brother, Jay Hall of Greenwood, N.C.; Jim Wunder of Cheektowaga, N.Y.; the groom's cousin, Myles Guadian of Garden City, and David Julian of Greensboro, N.C.

Ushers were the groom's cousin, Max Cordova of Lawrence, and the groom's brother-in-law, Paul Davis of Menden, Kan. Christine, a 1986 Rolling Meadows High School graduate, received a bachelor's degree in education from Illinois State University, Normal, in 1990. She is employed as a first-grade teacher at Bob Hope Elementary School in San Antonio. Nicholas, a 1988 Hayden High School graduate, received a bachelor's degree in nursing from the -University in in the U.S. Force, Mr.

and Mrs. Scott Rahmel from Valparaiso University, Valparaiso, Ind, in May. He is employed by J.W. Hicks Inc. in Mer- riville, Ind.

The couple lives in Valparaiso, Ind 1stLt. and Mrs. Nicholas Petrone Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio. Nicholas also works as a inurse-atjWilftinJit'Hall. Antonio.

He was employed as a photo engraver for Graveur Process, retiring in 1980 after 30 years of service. Frederick's favorite pastimes include reading and fishing.
