A laptop and backpack were stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 3600 block of Madison Avenue, as reported at 4:04 p.m. Dec. 8. Multiple keys were stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 4200 block of Sunnyside Avenue between 7 p.m. Nov. 29 and 11:14 a.m. Dec. 2. Burglary A package of ceramic figures, power drill, saw, work light, flashlights and several bottles of beer were stolen from a garage in the 3300 block of Arthur Avenue, as reported at 9:15 a.m. Dec. 5. A garage was broken into in the 9500 block of Jefferson Avenue, as reported at 10:59 a.m. Dec. 5. The resident did not think anything was taken. A rivet gun was stolen from a garage in the 3500 block of Sunnyside Avenue, as reported at 7:13 a.m. Dec. 9. Stolen GPS unit, speakers returned to owner A stolen GPS unit and speakers stolen from a vehicle in the 9000 block of Monroe Avenue were found by a woman walking her dog at Oak and Monroe avenues at 8:04 a.m. Dec. 8. The items were returned to their owner. Vehicle stolen, then returned A vehicle left running outside a bar in the 8800 block of Burlington Avenue was stolen at 12:06 a.m. Dec. 7 but returned to the bar shortly later. The suspect parked the vehicle, got out and ran into an alley behind the bar, a witness said. Cookies reported stolen A woman told police several hundred cookies were stolen from the Recreation Center at 8820 Brookfield Ave. at 10:48 a.m. Dec. 7. See POLICE, page 13
