Today we didn't have the winning car; we made the winning car," said Kyle Busch, celebrating his victory in Saturday's Camping World 200. AUTO RACING Another Nationwide race, another Kyle Busch win Stewart, the series point leader who will start from the pole in Sunday's Lenox Industrial Tools 301. "This is a unique place." Assuming the trend holds, keep an eye on Mark Martin, who won on the one-mile oval at Phoenix earlier this year and brings the same car to New Hampshire. "This is a tough racetrack," said Martin, who has never won at NHMS.

"It's kind of tough to pass on, and it's tight quarters, and it's like an expanded version of Martinsville in some ways. So it can be fun if your car is really good. But, if your car is not really good, it can sure be a challenge racing around the middle of the pack." Hamlin's car was really good when he won at New Hampshire in July 2007 and he's among several drivers hoping to end the streak of different winners Sunday. "I know we've had a lot of success here each time we've been here, but we've been here with a different setup every single time," he said. "It's just a real hard track to kind of perfect and get right.

"I think the drivers can make up for a little bit, but I don't think we've got it figured out on the car side yet. I don't think anyone has." No repeat titlists in past 4 years By Mike Harris Associated Press LOUDON, NH. Blame the tough racetrack, the Car of Tomorrow or simply circumstance. Whatever the reason, there have been no repeat winners in the past four years of Sprint Cup racing at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. If that trend holds, Greg Biffle, who won here in September, won't be in victory lane on Sunday.

Nor will Kurt Busch, Clint Bowyer, Denny Hamlin, Kevin Harvick, Kyle Busch, Ryan Newman or Tony Stewart. That impressive group of drivers includes the last eight Cup winners on the 1.058-mile oval. "Certainly, this racetrack is one of the harder flat tracks that we go to," Biffle said. "It's really, really flat, and I think that it changes a lot, and the guy that hits it just right that weekend is why you see different winners all the time, with no repeat winners. "Hopefully, we'll break that trend this weekend." Stewart started the string Tony TalbotAssociated Press Mark Martin has never won at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, so he could be a contender there Sunday.

when he won the summer race in July 2005. Jeff Gordon, Jeff Burton, Jimmie Johnson and Kurt Busch all won multiple races here before that, including season sweeps by Johnson in 2003 and Busch in 2004. Since then, though, no repeaters. Stewart, who also won here in July 2000, said he has no idea why there has been a string of different winners in New Hampshire. "I think every year this track changes a little bit, and every year everybody gets a little bit better on what it takes to be good here," said 'the TAXI SHUTTLE Service.

He had a similar performance Saturday night. He started on the pole after a qualifying lap of 117.7 mph and led 175 of 201 laps on the three-quarter-mile oval. "It's a pretty dominant truck, for some reason," Hornaday said. "I don't know what we're doing to it, but we're going to go back and copy it somehow." A caution with five laps to go, caused when Dennis Setz-er and Tayler Malsam collided, cut Hornaday's commanding lead with a restart and a green-white-checker finish. Brian Scott, who was running second, stayed with Hornaday through much of the first extra-period lap, but Hornaday pulled away on the final sweep.

Scott, who was racing for the second week with a broken right wrist, finished second, 0.65 seconds behind Hornaday. "We had a pretty good car today," the teenager said. "Just not good enough. It's not like he beat us by a lot. (We were) just too tight at the end.

I guess this is how Kyle felt lately, leading all the laps and finishing second." Saturday's victory was his 10th of the season, including three in Cup heading into Sunday's Lenox Industrial Tools 301 on the same track and two in trucks. Busch's latest victory also added to the remarkable string of 23 different winners in 23 Nationwide races on the 1.058-mile New Hampshire oval. Former series champion Carl Edwards challenged Logano in the early going, leading 51 laps. But his crew had problems changing the right front tire on a pit stop just past halfway and he finished sixth. That left Edwards 162 points behind Busch in the championship after 16 of 25 races.

Logano, in his first full season in Nationwide, is fifth. Brad Keselowski finished third, followed by Mike Bliss and Kevin Harvick. As the leaders crossed the finish line, Scott Speed hit Brian Vickers from behind and spun out his Cup teammate as they battled for ninth place. Vickers recovered to finish 12th. Associated Press Kyle Busch figured out a way to win again in the Nationwide Series.

After two straight frustrating runner-up finishes in the NASCAR series, Busch passed Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Joey Logano near the end of the Camping World 200 on Saturday and held off the 19-year-old at New Hampshire International Speedway. Logano, who started from the pole and ledl08 of the 200 laps, beat Busch out of the pits by the length of a hood on the final pit stop by the two leaders. But Busch was able to stay with the leader and eventually drive past him with 36 laps left. "We just kept adjusting on our car all day," said Busch, who had led the most laps in the previous eight Nationwide races while winning only two of them "Normally, when we're out front, we don't adjust on it. Today we didn't have the winning car; we made the winning car." Busch, who led a total of 37 laps Saturday, picked up his fifth Nationwide win of the year and 26th of his career.

Logano said the handling on his car changed too much during the final run and it slowed him down enough for Busch to move ahead. The finish was all about timing during the race and the inability to pass.

Dixon grabbed the lead on pit road after Mike Conway crashed on the 137th of 300 laps. He was followed back onto the track by Franchitti, Graham Rahal, Hideki Mutoh and Danica Patrick. "Once Scott got ahead, we tried our best to pass him, but we couldn't get it done," Franchitti said. "Nobody could pass. Everybody was out there hanging on." Andretti-Green Racing teammates Mutoh and Patrick likely would have been poised to battle for the victory after out-of-sequence stops much later in the race but needed green-flag racing over the last 80 laps.

Ties Hornish with 19th IndyCar win By Hank Kurz Jr. Associated Press RICHMOND, Va. Scott Dixon grabbed the lead from teammate Dario Franchitti on pit road just before the midpoint and earned his 19th career IndyCar Series victory Saturday night at Richmond International Raceway, tying Sam Hornish series record. Dixon and Franchitti, teammates at Target Chip Ganassi Racing, started on the front row in the SunTrust Indy Challenge and stayed there all night, benefiting from a one-groove racetrack that made passing difficult and from their own patience as most everyone else made green-flag pit stops. Twice they held out just Franchitti It didn't happen.

Helio Castroneves scraped the wall on lap 247, bringing out the last caution that rescued the leaders. Rahal finished a season-best third, followed by Mutoh and Patrick. The race was especially costly for Team Penske, which arrived with Ryan Briscoe leading the points and Castroneves fourth. Both were taken out of the running by crashes. Briscoe spun out on just the 27th circuit, and he wound up 19th of 20 cars, while Castroneves was running in the top seven when he crashed late.

He wound up 17th. Franchitti, who won this race and the series championship two years ago before a brief dalliance with NASCAR, moved past Briscoe and into the point lead, one ahead of Dixon.
