Bufkin, 88, of 604 Fredrica Ave. died Wednesday in Hinds General Hospital. Services are 2 p.m. today in Hickory Grove Cemetery in Laurel. A native of Latham, she had lived in Marietta, and had been a clerk for Richs Department Store in Atlanta before moving to Jackson 14 years ago.

She was a graduate of Jasper County Agricultural School and was a Methodist. She is survived by her sisters, Mis. Lena Trott of Birmingham, Mrs. Joyce F. Ethel of New Bern, N.C., and Miss Alice French of Jackson; brother, Robert French of Montezuma, and nieces and nephews.

James C. Wilson Sr. James C. Wilson 77, of 6033 Whitestone Road died in Mississippi Baptist Medical Center. Services are 2 p.m.

today at Wright Ferguson Funeral Home with burial in Lakewood Memorial Park. A native of Marietta, he had lived in Columbus, Natchez and Oxford, and in Jackson for more than 25 years. He was a member of Woodland Hills Baptist Church and was a graduate of the University of Mississippi. He was a school principal in Tallahatchie, Alcorn, Tishomingo and Yalobusha counties, a member of Columbus Lions Club for 15 years and was a retired attorney referee with the Mississippi Employment Security Commission with 35 years of service. Hill RAYMOND Mrs. Mary Lee Stamps Hill, 76, died Sunday at home. Services are noon today at Morning Star Baptist Church at Learned with burial in the church cemetery. A native of Learned, she was a member of Morning Star Baptist Church, the church's Mother Board, Usher Board Missionary Society, First Baptist Union and Sunday school.

She was also a member of the Cherry Grove Choir and the Heroines of Jericho. She attended Hinds County Public Schools, Southern Christian Institute in Edwards and Jackson State College. She taught in the Public Schools and was later employed by Hinds County Project Headstart for several years. She is survived by her sons, Plen Hill, Huston E. Hill, Cleo Hill, C.J.

Hill, 48, known as "the Blues Man," made music industry history last year when his Malaco album, "Down Home Blues," became the best-selling HILL blues album of the past decade. It remained on Billboard magazine's black album charts for more than 85 weeks. Hill was pronounced dead at Charlton Methodist Hospital at 11:50 a.m. Friday.

Doctors worked for nearly an hour to revive Hill, but there was no response, according to Gerald "Wolf' Stephenson, a Malaco producer. Stephenson said a friend of Hill's found the singer lying on the driveway of Hill's Dallas home. Hill was preparing for a weekend of singing engagements, Stevenson said. Hill, who was born in Naples, Texas, had recorded in Jackson the past four years and recently renewed his contract with Malaco for another four-year stint. His Malaco album catalogue includes "Down Home Blues," "The Rhythm and the Blues" and his latest release, "I'm a Blues Man," currently No.
