1977. The contract has been ratified by the 29 members of the Cinnaminson Police Association and the 30 members of the public works department, who are represented by Local 676 of the Teamster's Union. Deputy Mayor David B. Stahl, also director of public safety, said the extra money needed to make up the difference in the final offer can be taken from the surplus in other appropriated items in the budget and from the surplus in the police overtime budget. CINNAMINSON The township committee Tuesday unanimously adopted an amended salary ordinance to end contract problems with the police and public works department for the next two years.

The contract outlined in the ordinance gives employes in both departments a nine per cent across-the-board pay raise, increasing the starting salary for patrolmen from $9,700 to $11,537 in the second year of the pact. Employes of the public safety department had pushed for a 15 per cent across-the-board increase. In April, an impasse was reached when township officials refused to go beyond a 7.5 per cent increase. Police Chief Robert Rossell said Tuesday his officers will issue warning to motorists until Dec. 1. After that date all illegally parked vehicles will be ticketed. Motorists could be fined up to $10. Rossell said the police department has received numerous complaints about illegal parking in the past couple of weeks that led to the crackdown.

"This parking problem has surfaced all of a sudden," he said, "and it's not just limited to one section of the "People are parking on the grass, on the wrong side of the street, on other people's property and are creating a traffic hazard," he continued. "I'm at a loss to explain the reasoas behind the sudden increase in complaints," he added. The township zoning ordinance states that vehicles must be parked legally on public streets in accordance with state regulations, in the resident's garage or on the paved portion of a driveway, the chief said. "I hope the wanning will correct the situation," Rossell added. "However, the department will do whatever is necessary to correct the parking situation." Custom fitting Evesham hoard won't cut year "Last month's decision still stands," John O'Connor, the board's personnel chairman said Tuesday, "We contend that the school calendar is non negotiable.

The additional day only came about through calendar adjustments." "The work year varies slightly each year," O'Connor added. According to O'Connor the 188 days includes three in service days, in which teachers are not in classes. In the 1974-75 school year, Evesham teachers worked 187 days while they worked 189 days in 1973-74. EVESHAM The Board of Education has refused to allow Evesham teachers to shorten their work year. The board's decision upholds an earlier decision which requires teachers to work 188 days, one day more than they worked last year.

That decision, however, may cause the Evesham Teachers Association to file an unfair practice charge and seek action through the state Public Employes Relations Commission, as prescribed in a letter from the teachers to the board. The additional day, according to board members wasn't intentionally added.
