Eas- HAZLEHURST A farm employee was electrocuted Thursday while working six miles west of here, author ities said. Copiah County Coroner L.D. Breeland said Theodus Young, 41, was electrocuted when he raised the body of a dump truck into a high-voltage power line. Breeland said Young was killed immediatly by an electric current when he reached for the door handle. Young was an employee of Howard Goza, a Copiah County farmer.

Yazoo City plant to lay off workers YAZOO CITY The second-largest industry in Yazoo City, of Yazoo City will lay off 50 percent to 60 percent of its workers, a spokesman said Thursday. General manager Jerry Johnson said the layoffs, which go into effect today, are the result of a decline in clothing sales.
