The new owner, pending Federal Communications Commission (FCC) approval, is the Buckley-Jaeger which owns radio stations in Hartford, and in Los Angeles and San Francisco, Calif. Buckley Jaeger purchased WTCN from Time-Life Broadcasting, a subsidiary of Time, Inc.

Time -Life last month sold WTCN-TV to Chris-Craft Industries, Oakland, Calif. Time-Life had owned the television station and the radio outlet since 1957. Gordon Ritz, vice president of the stations, said he expects Time-Life to give him another assignment. FCC approval of both transactions is not expected to come before next fall, Ritz said. Time-Life still owns five television stations and four radio stations.
