Though rapidly rising to a spot among Nashville's star session pickers (for his guitar playing, as well as his fiddle expertise), Daniels felt the urge to follow a few of his own creative inspirations. In 1971, the Charlie Daniels Band was born and soon found itself in the forefront of a renaissance of Southern pop music concurrent with the rise of such groups as the Allman Brothers, Marshall Tucker Band and Lyn-yrd Skynyrd. The Charlie Daniels Band includes Tom Crain, guitar and vocals; Joe "Taz" Di Gregorio, keyboards and vocals; Charlie Hayward, bass; Jim Marshall and Fred Edwards, percussion. With the release of their current LP on Epic, Million Mile Reflections, the group's remarkable diversity is even more apparent. The first album the group has recorded in Nashville in several years, it is also the first CDB effort produced by John Boylan (Little River Band, Michael Murphy, Boston), whom Charlie describes as "a humble, unassuming talent and a fine, fine producer." The album tracks range, in true Daniels' fashion, from the rockboogie opening cut, Passing Lane, to a jazzy Jitterbug to country fiddle licks on The Devil Went Down To Georgia, to the quiet, contemplative mood of Mississippi and Reflections the latter dedicated to the memory of Lynyrd Skynyrd's Ronnie Van Zant.

"There's a melodic side to me that's hardly gotten on records before," says Charlie of the new album. "I like pretty songs. The subject matter is a little different, too. There are still a lot of rompin', stompin', hell-raising tunes, the best thing to do is listen to it." It's Time for Our To Place A QUICK ACTION WANT AD PICK fl PICK-UP cD 3 Jn k.
