With a nail, punch six or eight holes evenly spaced around the edge. Flatten out 18 to 24 bottle caps, remove the corks, and punch a hole in the center of each disc. Lace with cord, knotted around each disc (step 4), and tie the sets of three discs to the holes in the edge of the pan. Paint a design in the center, tie a bow on the. edge, and whirl away dancing and tapping your tambourine.

The CIO United Auto Workers agreed Friday they'll dig into their own pockets if they have to to prove they're se rious about their J.949 contract demands.

The poke at the pocketbooks, which will produce $10,000,000 in three months if it's needed, was voted as delegates neared the end of the union convention. President Walter Reuther announced the vote as 95 per cent in favor. Just before the 2,400 delegates approved the emergency assessment plan which would tap working members for $1 weekly for a maximum of 12 weeks for a major strike, they had given a unanimous nod to this year's economic program. Monev collected under the plan would be used "exclusively for relief of strikers and their families or for expenditures related to the conduct of the strike." ExDulsion of Harold Christoffel and six other former officers of local 248 at the snrawline Allis- Chalmers plant here was upheld by the convention, bo were sus pensions of two others. Strike Authorized DETROIT UF Ford workers across the nation have voted strike approval by a 7-1 margin, the CIO United Auto Workers reported Friday.

Strike, approval does not necessarily mean there will be a walkout. It simply gives union officers authority to call one. Yesterday expiration date for the present Ford contract was the deadline set by the UAW for filing of strike vote returns by locals at Ford's 49 plants. The company employs 106,000 production workers. RIVERSIDE SING GAINS 93 POINTS Folwell to Be Site of Concert Sunday Riverside park singers Friday night scored 93 points in the Minneapolis community sing compe tition.

They received 35 points for at tendance, 39 for enthusiasm and 19 for conduct. Sponsors of the sings are the Minneapolis park board, the Minneapolis Musicians association and the Minneapolis Tribune. Next sing will be Sunday at Folwell park following a band concert beginning at 8 p.m. George E. Murk conducts the sings.

Meeting Planned on Chimes Protest A meeting of Mount Olivet Lu theran church officials and 3s people who signed a petition pro testing the noise created by the church's chimes may take place. Dr. Reuben K. Youngdahl, pastor of the church, said Friday he was trying to get in touch with the petitioners who filed their protest with the city attorney's office. The meeting, he said, might decide what the next step would be.

He said he likes the idea of mak ing a court test case of the pro test. The chimes ring every 15 min utes from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. SCREEN'S GREATEST 2 IN 1 TECHNICOLOR COMBINATION!
