till it if The Members of Teamsters Local 676 began crossing picket lines of the striking Association of Scientists and Professional En gineering Personnel (ASPEP) at area RCA plants today. But a spokesman for ASPEP which has been on strike since last Tuesday, said some team sters, as well as members of four other unions, are refusing to cross picket lines in sympathy with ASPEP. "The fact that some teamsters are going back will only lengthen the strike," declared Harold Ammond, director of research for ASPEP. "It's going to be a long, hard, drawn-out strike," Ammond pre dicted. "There are members of Local 103, 106 and 110 of Inter national Union of Electrical Workers (IUE), plus some mem bers of the teamster union and American Federation of Tech nical Engineers (AFTE) who will never cross the picket lines," he said.

John Moran, ASPEP president, addressing a rally of the union today in Johnson jyarK, announced he and members of the executive committee are contacting business firms in the area for possible employment of engineers either on a "contract or parttime basis" during dur ation of the strike. Moran said the rally had been called to report to the union membership on negotiations during a four-hour meeting con ducted by a federal mediator Friday between the union and company. The meeting ended without agreement and no fur ther meetings were scheduled, Moran said. RCA reached an agreement Friday with the teamster union, representing some 90 truck drivers who had been honoring picket lines at plants in Cam den, Cherry Hill. Moorestown and Gibbsboro.

ASPEP, representing 1,500 en gmeers, called the strike in a dispute over seniority and lay-1 off procedures. Ammond said today at least 100 engineers "already have been lost to RCA since start of the strike because they have accepted other positions with companies or agencies who are in the area to raid the company of engineers."
