Has she got plans for spring break? Bring her to Mendocino College in Ukiah for the fifth annual Girl Scouts Sports Camp. Local female coaches and athletes will be on hand to teach the girls basketball, softball, volleyball, soccer, martial arts, dance, and much more. Sponsored by Girl Scouts of Konocti Council and Mendocino College Eagle Athletics Club, camp is March 28-31, 8:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. daily. The cost is $45 per girl or $35 for registered Girl Scouts for four full days.

Financial assistance is available. Spring Break Basketball Camp The city of Ukiah is holding a week-long spring basketball camp for boys and girls ages 7 through 17 from March 28-April 1. The camp, held at the Pomolita Middle School gym, offers players an opportunity to build a solid sports foundation and each day is filled with fundamental skills, progression drills, easy-to-understand instruction, as well as games and competitions. The camp is geared for beginners to advanced players.

Lunch is not provided. Please bring a sack lunch to camp each day. Full-day camp from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. and tuition is $125 per camper.

Half-day camp runs from 9 a.m. until noon and fetches a $75 tuition fee. Need-based scholarships are available through the city of Ukiah. For more information, call 463-6713. Girls Softball Clinic The city of Ukiah is beginning registration for a March 30 girls fastpitch softball clinic, supervised by the Ukiah High School softball coaching staff.

Girls will learn about every aspect of the game: hitting, sliding, fielding and more. The clinic will run from 9 a.m. until noon at the Ukiah High softball fields and is open to girls ages 9 to 14. The cost is $25 per player. Pre-registration is required and can be done at the city of Ukiah (411 W.

Ukiah Lions youth cheerleading sign-ups Ukiah Lions youth football and cheer will holding its 2005 cheerleading sign- ups on Thursday, April 7, at the First Presbyterian Church (514 W. Church St. and Dora St.) from 5:30 until 7p.m. Cheerleaders must be between the ages of 7 and 15 on or before July 31, 2005.

Sports Attic hoops tournament The 18th annual Sports Atti.c basketball tournament is scheduled for April 840 at the Ukiah High School gym and benefits Ukiah High athletic programs. The camp runs from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. and is open to boys and girls ages 7-15.

Ukiah Community Karate Kids program The Sheriff's Youth Activities League is teaching youth karate programs at the Redwood Health Club (3101 S. State Ukiah) on Wednesday evenings from 66:45 p.m. for ages 6 to 11 years and from 7-8 p.m.

The men's team practices from 1 to 3 p.m., while the team goes from 3 to 4 p.m. Participants are reminded to wear sweats or shorts with sports shoes to practice and to bring a water bottle. There is an annual $5 fee. Boxers wanted Boxing classes are offered by Mendocino County Sheriff's PAL and are ongoing at the Redwood Health Club for all ages and levels. Class tunes are on Thursdays at 6:45 p.m., Fridays at 5 p.m. and Sundays at 5 p.m. Anyone interested in joining PAL must fill out the necessary paperwork to become a PAL member and pay $5 a year.

Minors must have the forms signed by their parents. Health Club members may join at no charge. may come oq Thursday or Friday to complete the membership process. NCRC Raceway racing NCRC hosts radio-controlled car racing on the third Sunday of each month at the Redwood Empire Fairgrounds. The first 2005 race date is March 20. Racing starts at 11 a.m.

Sign-ups start at 9:30 a.m. sharp. Get there early for the best pit spots. NCRC holds races for novice to expert drivers. Road course and oval racing is held.

This camp is be invitation only. Boys and girls ages 1019 are eligible to apply. Players from 50 states and 17 foreign countries attended the 2004 camp.
