Thnrslay, July 13, 1972 Philadelphia Inquirer People and Places Fischer Loses at Chess; Fumes Over TV Coverage Angela's Champion Takes to the Hills Farmer F.oger McAfee, 33, has said he posted the $100,000 bail for Angela Davis "for publicity and profit." Now he's probably not so sure it was a good idea. McAfee, who heads a cooperative dairy farm, has had to take to the hills with his five after nine of his cattle hours of play Tuesday, Spassky held the advantage with a bishop1 and three pawns against Fischer's five pawns. Play was halted when Spassky, 35, asked for an adjournment and Fischer agreed. Experts agreed that only the Russian master could win the first game. They said the best Fischer could hope for was a draw.

THE MATCH will include 24 games. The first player to get UV2 points will be the winner. Each win counts for one point and a draw one-half point. Wednesday's play lasted one hour and three minutes. One of Spassky's pawns threatened a Fischer pawn when play ended Tuesday.

Jeanne Lawson, a member of the cooperative, said the harassed farmer had been receiving "nasty" letters and threatening telephone calls ever since he posted the bail. The unpredictable Bobby Fischer, one game down in his bid for the world chess championship, threatened early today to stay away from the second game unless all television cameras were removed from the auditorium, international chess sources said.

Fischer, who lost the opening game to world champion Boris Spassky of the Soviet Union on the 56th move Wednesday, made his demand known at a closed-door meeting with representatives of the International Chess Federation (FIDE), the Icelandic organizers of the $250,000 match and American companies owning the rights to televise the games. Chess sources said Fischer would forfeit the second game of the 24-games series it he failed to appear within one hour of the 5 P.M. (1 P.M. EDT) starting time today. Fischer, who stopped play in the game for 35 minutes to protest the presence of two closed-circuit television cameras high above the playing stage, conceded to the Russian on the 56th move.

He resigned when he saw he could not prevent Spassky from queening his only surviving pawn. Fischer then stood up, made a helpless gesture to the audience and walked off. IT WAS A BAD day all around for the 29-year-old American. News from London was that James Slater," who had tried to sweeten the pot with 50,000 pounds (about $120,000) wouldn't be able to get his money out of England be-case of currency restrictions. Slater's donation, which pushed the total prize money to $300,000, enticed Fischer to end his holdout at the scheduled start of the match July 2.

PLAY IN THE FIRST game resumed on time, but Fischer walked out after three moves to protest the two television cameras. Match organizers covered the cameras with a cloth, but Fischer said they still bothered him. A Secret Service spokesman said after that the agency had no evidence that the men intended to harm the South Dakota senator or any of the other public figures being guarded by the Secret Service. A SPOKESMAN for the two men said that they were not involved in any assassination plot but had only gone to McGovern's hotel to distribute material on their organization the Jackson (Miss.) based Republic of New Africa. The two men arrested are Malik Sonebeyatta, 32, also known as Wayne Harris Foster, formerly of Philadelphia, and Ahmed Obatemi, 33, also known as Jesse Dixon, a former New Yorker.
