OHIO VALLEY Backup QB Ellis guides EKU, 27-14 Associated Press Chris Bramell led a 20-point fourth- quarter surge with two touchdown passes to Curt Garwood as St. Francis rallied to beat visiting Georgetown 34-23 yesterday in Fort Wayne, in the first round of the NAIA playoffs. The 10th-ranked Tigers (9-3), who had reached the championship game each of the past four years and won it in 2000 and 2001, led 16-14 before 8-yard TD pass to Garwood less than a minute into the fourth quarter.

Georgetown regained the lead briefly at 23-20 on Ryan 5-yard TD run with 10:54 left. But No. 5 St. Francis (11-0) scored 14 unanswered points on 7-yard strike to Garwood and Michael 25-yard run to finish off the Tigers. Bramell connected with Garwood on three TDs overall, including a 10-yarder that gave the Cougars a 7-0 lead in the first quarter.

Bramell was 14 of 24 for 185 yards with an interception, and he rushed 18 times for 140 yards. Ledo had 78 yards and two scores on 16 carries as the Cougars outgained Georgetown 473-256 in total yardage. Neil Warren was 16 of 24 for 149 yards, including a 27-yard TD to Jerome Gearlds, with two interceptions. He led the Tigers on the ground with 54 yards on 22 carries. It was St.

Francis coach Kevin first win in four games against his former team. Donley coached Georgetown for 11years and led the Tigers to the 1991national title. Giancola caught five passes for 140 yards, and Kevin Knutson had five receptions for 107 yards. David Caudill completed 21of 37 passes for 331yards and two TDs with one interception. Eli Parkes caught eight passes for 111yards.

Valparaiso finished with 488 total yards to 468. On Oct. 4, Morehead beat Valpo 32-26. Baldwin-Wallace 54, Hanover 32: Dan Larlham threw three TD passes and ran for two more scores to rally the host Yellow Jackets (10-1) past the Panthers (8-3) in the first round of the NCAA Division III playoffs. Hanover jumped to a 17-7 lead in the second quarter on two TD passes by Brett Dietz, who threw for 520 yards, before the Yellow Jackets scored 38 consecutive points.

Joe Deitrick returned an interception 23 yards to tie it at 17. Then Larlham scored on runs of 59 and 10 yards before throwing scoring passes of 63 yards to Tom Murphy and 5 yards to Mike Brosovich. Larlham finished 15 of 22 for 261 yards with an interception. He also rushed 19 times for 161yards as the Yellow Jackets rolled up 614 yards. He now has 99 career TDs rushing and passing.

Mark Anders ran for 210 yards to set career rushing record and had a 1-yard TD run in the first quarter to tie the score at 7. His 2,579 yards rushing eclipsed the mark of 2,418 set by Lorne Conyers from 1984-87. Dietz set Division III playoff records for completions and attempts by going 46 of 78. He threw for four TDs and was intercepted four times. Stephen Lyon had TD receptions of 45, 22 and 4 yards and finished with 13 catches for 186 yards for Hanover.
