Joe C. Seale, the plant manager, explained to you that cane sugar, corn sugar, something he called pure vanilla and other ingredients were added to the milk and cream while It was still in the big container. You then learned that the milk and cream with the new Ingredients flowed into another big container where it was pasteurized so any possible germs would be destroyed. The pure mixture next was pumped into a huge tank called a "homogenizer." You wondered about ttiat word, so you asked and were told it meant the milk and cream and all the other Ingredients were being all mixed up and blended into one smooth liquid.
