THE PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER, SATURDAY MORNING, JUNE 26, 1971 Cincinnati Priest to Speak At Mass for Black Caucus Ex-Theologian Calls Biblical Theology 'Inherently Political' NEWS OP f' fn Til' tesy 12 xii cated, "will still be seeking change" even in the best of countries since that has been part of its social witness for thousands of years. Sometimes, like the present, they will be more active and "revolutionary." He criticized "pentacost-als," Jesus Freaks, "fundamentalists and neo-fundamen-talists" for making "privatis-tic" use of the Bible, taking stories, ideas and fables out of Biblical context. "Despite their extolling of the Bible, they don't take it. seriously at all," he said. His comments on the political condition of America both in the interview and in a question and answer session at the church were pessimistic, but not fatalistic.

He castigated the FBI for its premature release of letters between Sister Elizabeth McAlister end Philip Berrigan. It was, he said, "gross impropriety" and "abuse of due process." ave. THE INTERNATIONAL SOCIETY for Krishna Consciousness, Radha Krishna Temple, will celebrate Jagannath Puri, its major religious festival, Sunday. During the ceremonies, beginning at 4 P.

Martin J. Casey, a Jesuit priest, who will become superior of the Leonard Neal House in Washington, July 5.

Father Casey served as pastor of the church, on Willings Alley, for seven years and strongly influenced the church's restoration. A Mass and reception will be held Saturday at 2 P.M. at the church. DEVOTIONS OF THE Nocturnal Adoration Society of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia will move from the CYO building at 1819 Arch where they have been held for the last 38 years, to Old St. Joseph's Church at 321 Willings Alley.

Readings from the Quran (Koran) are in Arabic and English, the sermon in English. Ali has studied Arabic the last 17 years, and he speaks it fluently. He teaches it to members of his congregation four nights a week and on Sunday.

But here, Muslims have discovered the practice especially when intoned in Arabic on a loudspeaker from a housetop before sun-up may be less than soothing to sleeping neighbors. One of the neighbors twice called the police' and Shaikh Imam Abu-Bakr Ali, the chief minister of the Afroamerican Islamic Umma, agreed to discontinue the early morning call until its legality is clarified. INSTANT CELEBRITY Stringfellow, 42, had been a respected moral theologian and Episcopal layman and successful lawyer until last August when he became an instant celebrity. Dan Berrigan, the "fugitive priest" and author of the Ca-tonsville "liturgy," was captured at the house on Long Island Stringfellow shares with poet Anthony Towne.

Since then, the questions people ask him and the themes of his lectures and sermons have more to do with the health of Father Berrigan and the nation or the promise and threat of the courts than with "theology." "Liturgy is the dramatization of new life as life is called to be," he said.
